This is not uncommon, one reason why the Old Firm will never get in the Engloish Premiership is because the rump of smaller sides beteween 7th and 17th place will not risk their own position in the top trough, woops I meant flight!

I think Celtic and Ranger's will buy there own media rights and establish an Old Firm TV sports package with a Celtic TV and a Rangers TV for the respective clubs games.

Is it at all possible to buy the rights to broadcast there own European games or even offer them on a PPV channel? I reckon that's the way forward for the old firm.

the rights to european games are sold collectively by uefa for the CL = no private deals

not sure on the new europa league but if we did sell individual games to BBC or other it will be peanuts and i do not think uefa would allow us to do PPV on our games unless they or the opposition get a slice of the action

as for our own PPV for domestic *, then we need a vote of 8 to 4 from those other fuds for it happen and look what they have just voted for so they would blow us out the water. Their argument is that we need them as opposition and therefore they should have an equal say in their broadcast rights

it is not going to change

the only way we can stop them is to starve them of our cash at the turnstile and refreshment stall for a season or two

but we wont, we cant deprive ourselves of the buckfast tour of the mini hun toilets of scotland supporting our team, and thus we feed these * and keep their heads above water with our cash so tht the next time a decision has to be made, they are still in business with our money to make the wrong decision

lets bankrupt these * and then we can bargain for ourselves and then get the * out of this bigoted toilet of a set up

:50: Totally agree. You sound like a bit of a Marxist Extremist, There's no reason you couldn't organize a huge away games boycott for the new season.

although i agree that yet again we've been let down by the other clubs, i don't think bankrupting them is the way to go. Won't be much of a league if there are only 3 or 4 teams left to play against......and besides they seem to be trying really hard to fail all on their own.

so you enjoy watching our club being dragged down by the other SPL clubs? You are happy to be one of the many thousands of Celtic and Rangers fans who will have to subsidise the club's loss of tv money through new imaginative ways to empty your wallet to make up for the loss? Gary Caldwell wants 19 grand a week allegedly we have literally just halved our tv income, how do we afford improved contracts?

this isnt about complaining just for the heck of it, have you read the statement by Dr Reid our chairman? he is furious and so am i. the small spl clubs have just dragged us down further to their level when we can boast one of the largest worldwide supports who would happily pay for a tv season ticket to watch from afar and many at home who cant be bothered with all the hassle of going to games or maybe the traffic or cost of petrol or they cant afford to pay nearly 30 quid for a ticket to sit in five star death traps like the corner stand at tannadice!!!!!!!!!!!

as for the playing against 3 or 4 teams, lets have a look at the comparisons

for St Johnstone lets have Dundee with their new investment they would love to be back in the SPL

    Hamilton - Partick Thistle

Kilmarnock - a subbuteo team still in the packet would be more exciting than that shower

    Motherwell - Morton

all the SPL 2 advocates would queue up to join a league orchestrated by the two clubs whose fans keep scottish football alive, then just watch Dundee United and Hearts and Hibs et al change their tune

i say it again, it is time we reminded these shitehawks who keeps them going. it is us and the angry battalion of nasties from govan with the faces like baboons genetalia !

I'm far from happy with the other spl clubs, i think they left their balls in the missus' handbag.... i was only saying that to sell tv rights you need games to play, which mean other teams and whose to say dundee, the jags, etc wouldn't have voted the same way. The sooner they expand the spl to 16 or 18 teams and ditch the split so we only need to visit these cesspits once a season the better, but thats a whole other thread...

and yes i did read Dr Reid's statement and agree with everything he said and i also feel anger at the short-sightedness shown by the other clubs, especially as its not the first time. All i'm saying is that we need a league to play in and unfortunately(at the moment) that means the other clubs.

Well this is the SPL clubs chances to get fans back through the gates. Approx 2 home games a month and if you want the combination of Sky/ESPN then it's going to cost you £36.50 a month.

So it's time for SPL clubs, mainly the smaller clubs to drop their prices and get fans back through the doors. All they need to do is price themself under that of the above. £15 a ticket would still be cheaper than having Sky/ESPN. So let's see if the SPL take advantage of the situation.
