He'd be a great signing IMO.

 

I would love to see this guy at Celtic. imagine the balls played in! we might score goals from corners and crosses again :O

 

Think he is a cracking player, for that kind of money get him signed.

 

In the Evening Times today there quoting a fee of £750000. says on his wiki page he only signed a permanent deal a year ago.

 

I didn't claim it was his fault. I was suggesting there may not be much competition for his spot in the team.

 

The article also claimed he captained the national team as stated earlier, not sure whether he is the current captain of the Austrian national team though.

short summary:

- he was a massive talent at the age of 16, basically austrian's new hope (new skywalker)
- now he is 25, he had to leave Red Bull Salzburg, went to Panathinaikos, had to sit on the bench and nowadays he ain't even allowed to train with them anymore. they wanna get rid of him ASAP.
- used to be austrian's captain, now he ain't even in their squad anymore, even his own supporters dislike him
- further they discuss why that could happen, from hero to zero etc etc

-although his contract runs till 2010 with Panathinaikos, they want to get rid of him and he won't be playing again for them. his manager is looking for a new club and the usual suspects are interested: Celtic and Osasuna.


personally I think he is a gifted footballer, but completely inconstant and a nutter.

Thanks for providing an insight on the player from a position the vast majority of us here don't have.

Did something serious happen with him? i've read he has 45 caps for Austria (also sure I recognise his name from the 2008 Euros). Has he only recently fallen out of the national team? could it be to do with problems at his club?

Basically, is there anything to suggest that his problems are just a blip and he would benefit from a move, or has he always just been a bit of a *?

 

no ive spoken to a few panathaniakos fans and they say he is a great player and the coach is a * in one word or another

 

thats weird i just got linked with him in football manager 09 , so i decided to put a bid for him , the stats for him are really good .

 

hes basically a clone of naka , same position, same foot, free kick specialist and national captain

 

For £750,000 I don't see it as too much of a gamble.
