    Came home today and my brother told me my ps3 had the yellow light of death:54:. He phoned sony and they said even though the warranty is up if we had the receipt sony would replace it, but my mum threw it out when she moved home last month from england:47::31:. So now have to pay £140 to sony for a replacement.

    I just bought tiger woods on friday was loving it and was going to buy fight night tomorrow aswell, absloutely raging plus i got scammed on ebay last week when i bought a polo shirt:31::31:!

    * surely they can tell by the serial number that is in waranty thats all you need to fix your xbox

    You only get 1 year warranty with your ps3 and i have had it for 2 years :(

    but its there * problem not yours its happening all the time with them now same as xbox and microsoft gave extended 3 years

    A know mate, am going to give them a phone myself and see what they say. Cant believe how much i miss it now i cant play it. I had not played it in weeks before tiger now a dont know what to do with myself lol

    My mate got the ring of death fixed by turning it off oan on about 100 times he claims, he defo had it at 7 when I left but it was gone when I got there at 9 it was fixed :97:

    Hmmm i'l give it a go. Am coming to think that maybe its just really over heated cause sometimes my laptop doesnt work for a day and a half because it has overheated

    Happened to mine to mate. They replaced mine after just talking to them on the phone. No receipet needed or anything, They asked for the serial number and when id bought it and things. They sent a courier to pick it up and within a week id a reconditioned one delivered with a years warranty on it.

    this isnt the 1st time iv heard something like this about the ps3 on here?
    mines is fine but i thought it was the x-box that had all this problem?

    nah it's just the gaystation fanboys that try drill it into your head that the 360 ''always'' breaks. The fact is it doesn't and if you believe what your told rather than what you've experienced,more fool you. All i hear is ''my PS3 is broken'' so imo that's the machine with manufacturing problems.

    pish im an xbox fan and im on my 3rd machine and two of my mates are on there second and i don't think thats just bad luck both machines are failing but saying that xbox seems to have righted it now thank *

    Bit of an xbox Fanboy i suspect lol, My mate gets so wound up when i tell him my PS3 is far superior to his Xbox! Not that i believe it or anything but it is so funny that he is so immature about it, (I'm 23 He's 25)
