does anyone agree that celtic should be one of the clubs in the hunt for michael owen. judging on his form since owen joined newcastle it is without a doubt that owen is not the player he once was, but i would also suggest that with the right coach and team mates around him michael is young enough to bounce back to some semblance of the player he used to be.
given the standard of defenders in the spl may be below the standard of those owen is used to faceing i think it would be a fantastic signing, but only if he was given a realistic wage which is where we reach the stumbling block.
if michael owen see's himself returning to the form he once had then surely playing in a side that has the bulk of possession and a side that plays to win every week, therefor creating him many chances to score.....surely that is a better option for him than taking a fat wedge of cash, but having to walk off the pitch after ninety minutes having had his * felt. kaka proved not all footballers are interested in the wedge.....whilst tevez proved that money is a strong lure......i'd love to know if celtic fc have even asked if michael would be interested in a move to the best club in the world.
and i'd reckon michael owen would run riot up here.
over to you mogga.....surely we can afford a phone call to tyneside.

This seems to pop up every week.
Micheal Owen better not sign, the injury table is full enough.

i agree signing him would be a slight risk......but as long as he passed a medical and we signed him on our terms with a respectable wage that didnt break the bank.....wouldnt you agree he'd be worth a punt......remember how pish sutton was before mon signed him......hartson was also not at his best when he signed for us. and both delivered big time for us.

Could be worth a shout, all depends on his wages.

The lure of the CL most seasons might be of interest to him rather than a relegation scrap with the likes of Stoke and Hull who are after him.

I think he would do well for us if he could get himself 100% fit.

Micheal Owen has been plagued with injuries and they are never picked up on a medical.
I doubt we would be able to afford his wages anyway.

and i'd say that john hartson injured himself at birth......and never fully recovered.....but he delivered the goods......owen would be a risk.....but i think one that would be worth it.
but its what mogga wants that counts.......i just feel if an enquiry isnt made its negligence.
owen would give us the spark we need to excite the fans.

No way, he has lost that yard of pace and was ineffectual for Newcastle costing them a fortune lying on the treatment table. Plus SPL defenders would kick the * out of him.

Not to mention the wages he's used to no club in the SPL could match that or offer close to it.

Owen has done sweet f**k all for about 4 years. He's had too many injuries and will never reach his capability again. So I would not want him at CP when we should be looking at affordable targets.

I suppose part of me would like them to approach him and test the water because theres no doubt he is a world class striker when fit and under the right conditions he would certainly do a job BUT any deal would be related to game time for sure but i believe he would see himself as being too big for us

Doesn't even matter if he loves Celtic and want us to win the Champions League, we can't afford half his wages. Total non-starter.

58 league appearances in 4 seasons....reason enough to say NO.
