i wonder how many people on here would have done the same if they were in baldes position, sit it out on huge wages given to you by the club who employed you, & you pick up a loyalty bonus of £1.000000 at the end of you contract, think about it?
balde isn't like us a dyed in the wool celtic fan, he's almost at the end of his career,
no way is he going to walk away from that. it's easy to take the moral high ground on a celtic fans forum but i reckon if you were put in the same situation with a team other than celtic then the chances are you would do the exact same.

Balde was 29 when he signed that contract ,he probaly had about 4-5 good years in front of him but was told in know uncertain terms that his Celtic career was over ,but forget about money for a minute ,,he is a footballer and footballers want to play ,but he choose to sit it out while 2-3 different clubs wanted him and i know that Birminham where as near as dam going to match his wages ,but no he stayed ,he has wasted his own career ,nobody else but him alone ,he could have been playing in the premiership but he stuck it out at Celtic ,,and its not for love of our club ,,,now talk about money ,Greed.

it's all about money i'm afraid, that's why we cant compete with the likes of hull for a mediocre footballer. football is a job like any other & you do what's best for you & your family in the long run, that's all that matters. why should bobo love celtic? i don't love my employers, do you?

We're all too quick to say the guy is just greedy. But, if he was offered * near the same wages at a EPL club and had more chance of football, then why didn't he go? People say it's greed...but how can that be if his wages were to be the same? that tells me that the money wasn't the main driving force here.

What if the guy simply wanted to honour his contract and hope that one day he would get his chance again?

Or, what if the guy was bullied and mistreated by the likes of Strachan he thought "* this, you're treating me *, fining me and banning me from training with the first team...Im just not leaving, you'll be forced to make do"

The guy could have been hoping to play for us again, or maybe had a major grudge on Strachan that he wanted to rile him up as much as possible.

Who REALLY knows? because as I said earlier in this topic, we aint seen a direct quote from the big man.

We don't really know, but I suspect the rumoured £1million loyalty bonus might have played a part in his decision to stay (if it really is in his contract), which does suggest greed considering he's already a millionaire.

All specualtion though I'm afraid. only three people will know for sure what's in the contract. Peter Lawell, Bobo Balde, and his agent.

Unless we can get a quote from the man himself, or see such contracts, and any offers given to him by other clubs, no one will know anything.

True, we're unlikely to find out what was in the contract, but all I can say I'm glad we don't have to shell out any more wages on him after Tuesday, no matter what he did for us in the past he was a drain on resources these past few years and that money has now been freed up.

Exactly, that's why he is a leech and the quicker he leaves Celtic the better.

His legacy at Celtic is one of greed and not of a rugged centre half, he had the opportunity to leave and further his career and he chose to rot away in the background. That was his decision and he should be held accountable for it. I find the 'poor Bobo' attitude disgraceful in all honesty, he has been picking up £30,000 every single week of the Celtic supporters money for doing nothing and yet some still have sympathy for him. Crazy.

see the bottom line is? if he gets a move to the epl ! he`s going to make a right good wage anyway? so he should have left 2 year ago and not stay and sponge money of our club without earning it when he was told he wouldnt be played.

celtic can only blame themselves here...they offered the contract on the wages. The player has the right to make decisions on where he goes. He was available for selection but celtic choose not to play him....their choice.
