I think we should sell the name to a advertising company as with todays climate & setanta going the way it is the extra money for renaming the stadium name when everyone will still call it what they want could be good for the club if most it goes back into the team

Seems like I'm in the minority but there's no way I'd be happy about this.

Some things are more important than money - I wouldn't be upset if we followed Barcelona's lead on shirt-sponsorship but I realise that will never happen.

I'm really proud of our Socialist roots and I don't see how whoring out the name of our stadium stands up with that.

Well the stadium is called 'Celtic Park' not Parkhead, so its not as if we would change what we call it, we dont call the stadium by its real name anyway.

Didn't Guinness offer Fergus McCann 50 million to name one of the stands 'The Guinness Stand' when the stadium was being built? Obviously he rejected.

I agree with most people in that renaming the stadium something like The Addidas or the Nike for a tidy sum of money is a good idea, but if it were called Tampex Stadium or Kellogg's Bowl then no way!

just out of curiosity? but has there been something mentioned about this?

its just that a thread on it maybe there is movement on that front or its just a normal plain straight forward question?

    No chance never.

We are bigger than Arsenal and should not go down that route.

Would Barcelona sell there stadium name?

I think it shows a lack of class.

I am undecided on this one to be honest, Its a good idea no doubt about it but I dont like the idea of Parkhead being called something like The o2 Arena etc.

There were rumours flying around for a while it was gonna be re-named 'The Nike Arena'.

    Actually sounds kinda catchy. :icon_mrgreen:

If it brings in more revenue I don't see why not.

Everyone will call it Parkhead or Celtic Park regardless anyway.

I think more people call it Parkhead anyway. I have always preferred it to Celtic Park anyway so sell away for big big money.

I'd be fine with it. It'll always be Parkhead to me.

Dont know about this one. If it came in and all the money was spent on transfers then maybe yes, but the idea of it being called someting like the Guiness Stadium or Coca Cola stadium or something like that is kinda * :38: so probably a no unless it was a really good name

I don't really care, but the idea of money for a stadium name is good buisness especially when most fans call it parkhead and not celtic park.
IF it hapened I WOuld still be saying parkhead

Is this just a thought or has there been rumours and if e.g Nike offered to buy it for like 50m I really think lawwell and Reid would say no thanks

I agree with the majority in that as long it wasnt a stupid name then i wouldnt have problem with changing the name as it will always be parkhead to the majority of fans.

    Annesummers arena....does that sound nice.

Seriously you would sell the name of the ground, aslong as the buyer had a really good name?
