Valencia have just said they have knocked back a bid by Chelsea for David Villa because negotiations with Real Madrid are already advanced, more or less Villa wants to go to Madrid and they have all ready accepted a bid and he doesnt want to go to Chelsea.

Where are Madrid getting all this money? £59m for Kaka, £80m for Ronaldo, how much will Villa be costing about £40m?

They need a centre-half and left-back too how much are they going to end up spending :97:

Doesn't really matter to them the debt, they are an institution.

Still hasn't learned anything from the first time Perez, unless he goes and buys a defensive mid and a centre half from the top drawer they'll still be as * next season even with Kaka, Ronaldo and Villa.

Agree Hammer, you would have thought he would have learned from last time that having all the best attacking type players does not always make for the best team - too many ego's that need to be taken care off and I hope they win nothing.

Apparently the bank just wipes their debt clean, are they owned by the bank? Is that how it works?

BBC NEWS | Business | How can Real Madrid afford Ronaldo?

They make around 150m Euros a year in Spanish TV rights. They are busy cornering the Asian TV rights and merchandise market and have the third highest attendances in Europe, boosted by the world's best match day hospitality packages.

Bwin, Adidas, Coca-Cola and Audi plow billions into them. They can also call on favours in the Spanish establishment all the way to the King.

And crucially, they (and Barcelona) and exempt from demands to become a plc, leaving them free of any unfortunate debt issues.

That same article also shows you why Celtic buying someone like Nakamura is so lucrative. We had the best player from Asia during his peak years, shrewd marketing as well as sound player choice.

Real (Royal) have always been the team of the establishment.

It's the reason the rivalry with Barcelona is so strong, and also why Catalans have a liking for Celtic.
