If we look at Naka he used to get bullied about the park all the time but hes a tough little * now and gives as good as he gets, I think Crosas will show the same development as Naka, He will bulk up over pre season and I think we have a very good young creative CM to look forward to next year. Not the finished article but its no secret he has bags of potential and more technical abilty than most on the team.

Looks to be a good player still young but think next year could see a difference.

I reckon if we get Mowbray then Crosas can only flourish playing for him. Mowbrays style of football will suit him well and if he can harden up then he will be a top player

Where's the contradiction? I'v been impressed with him a couple of times at home, and not really any times away, I go to all the away games though so I suppose it's hard to see who does what at times, but he hasn't been anywhere near a stand-out.

    Strange thread.

The only real consistent criticism that seems to be emerging of Crosas is that he is "not tough enough" and can get battered around a bit by the grunts of the lesser SPL teams. Couple of points regarding this.

    • This to me is a criticism of the SPL, rather than Crosas.
    • He is not a digger-type player, so brute strength is not central to his game.
    • Any player can work on his upper body strength etc and become more robust - this takes no special talent or ability. Especially when you have the help of a quality specialist trainer: which we have at CP, as Aiden will testify.
All that's needed is hard work and ambition, and I think we'll get both of these from Marc.

The day we start grading Celtic players according to how good they are at wrestling is the day we lose sight of what this club is about.

some say crosas isnt consistant enough or tough enough but look at mcgeady how many times in a game does he make a telling cross or an inch perfect pass ? How often is he caught in possetion or waste a good position by trying one step over too many ? point is hes been a regular in the team and is older but gets a much easier ride from a lot of fans

To be honest it's his first season and he needs time to bed into the team. He would have found it hard at times this year because of the "plan b ( pumping the ball forward to the smallest man on the pitch)" and totally by-passing the midfeild.

I can see him becoming a very big player should he develope into the player that we can see in little flashes. But time will tell

Could'nt agree more:50: this is what is wrong with scottish football from grass roots level up. Coaches all over the country deem talented players too small and opt for the maybe not the most technically gifted, but tall and powerful players.

imo scottish football will never improve as long as our coaches continue to favour brute strength over ability

I think Crosas gets a lot of criticism, and in fairness, a lot of the time it is due. But remember, he is being judged against the first team and the level of performance that that position entails. So in that sense, I'm sure he's glad to get the criticism, provided he's playing.

Looking a the guy though, there's no doubt that he has talent. He is an entirely different mold to what the typical Scottish CM plays, so obviously at times he caught out. I think given time, like the same time given to Petrov and Brown, he'll step up. Think about Petrov and Brown's first seasons, both for their own reasons struggled a bit, but sticking with them you see how they start to stamp their own style on the team which can influence our style of play. Going forward I think his style is what we should be aiming at if we are to make roads in europe.

If nothing else, he has done well compared to the other young guys we brought in, i.e. Mizuno, McCourt, Hutchinson etc. Give him the same chance we have the others and we could uncover a real player.

    Spot on again mate :50:

If we want to progress in European terms we're going to have to go with the on the deck possession football and he's already shown that's what his forte is.

I like Crosas alot, hes a great young player who is always learning, he just needs to toughen up a little and he will be a complete player, great passing abilities and can score the odd goal or two, him and Brown if we can keep him will be our main midfield for years to come in my opinion

My fears about the lad came true. Too mnay got carried away after a good performance. He has a good game but too often he is posted missing, although he has talent.

I think next season will be what proves him, he has had time to fit in and should know the game now. Time to see if he has got it or not.
