There’s been a lot of talk about the managers job, maybe too much talk. But this manager is a rebel manager, Slaven, Slaven Bilic.<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

We’ve been sent quite a bit of info over the past few days from various sources under various guises telling us they know for definite who the next Celtic manager is. We are still counting the number but to date we’ve reached 44 with the number still rising by the minute and thought it about time we got the finger out of our backsides and shared some gossip and general chatter outwith the ETims Rumour Mill which will be issued over the next few days.

First getting to the easy part. What we can guarantee you 100% is that a person representing our esteemed football club was in talks with <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Burnley yesterday asking for permission to speak to Coyle about the Celtic managers position. For crystal clarity, this does not mean for one second he was going to be offered the role but like many others was merely being sounded out to assess if he was interested in becoming the next Celtic manager. Forget all nonsense that Coyle was offered the job, that Coyle turned down the job and that our club has not approached Burnley. He wasn’t, he hasn’t and we did but Burnley asked for compensation agreement as a pre-requisite in advance of any discussions and as of the present time we have not gone back to them with a figure.

Now onto the perhaps unknown news. A friend of the site who has passed on some good info in the past contacted us on Tuesday afternoon with some interesting information. He informed us representatives from Celtic held talks with Slaven Bilic last week to understand if he would be interested in the Celtic managers role.

The Croatian manager made it clear in no uncertain terms he would love the job but there is a hurdle to be overcome on Celtic’s behalf for this ever to become a reality. Slaven is not only coach of the Croatian national team but is about as patriotic a coach as anyone is ever likely to come across and is not willing to leave his country in the lurch during the middle of qualifying for next summers World Cup Finals.

He has made it clear it would be an honour to manage Celtic but he can only commit to do this full-time from the end of October this year as this ties in with the conclusion of Croatia’s World Cup qualifying campaign. If Croatia fail to qualify he will be full-time with immediate affect but if Croatia qualify they would only have a handful of friendlies to take care of over the following eight months with most of those taking place at the end of the domestic club season and in preparation for the World Cup.

The question facing the Celtic board is, if Bilic ticks all the boxes they want are they willing to take the risk of entering a Champions League qualifying campaign and the first three months of the new season without a new manager in place and face the certain wrath of a section of our support and those blaggards in the media should results not go our way? Or are Celtic able to negotiate a deal with the Croatian FA that will allow Bilic to move into the Celtic Park hotseat after Croatia’s match against the Ukraine on June 6th and give him over two months to purchase new players, take control of the pre-season schedule and early fixtures of the new campaign before taking over Croatia’s game against Belarus on August 19th?

There would also only be three more internationals to play, two in September and one in October and most if not all of them coincide with Scotland fixtures and hence a domestic break for international football and no club games.

It’s clear Bilic is desperate for the role with his agent ex-Celt Rudi Vata making all the correct noises and more but what is also clear is if Slaven is the man the board want – and we hear Celtic’s representatives were highly impressed during discussions - there is a fair bit of negotiation required with the Croatian FA should they want this deal to go ahead.

We have also been informed this evening that an approach to Everton will be made on Sunday asking for permission to speak to Davie Moyes.

We understand Moyes has a £3m buy-out clause in his contract and if given permission to speak to him and Moyes is deemed to be the best choice and willing to come the club will pay the figure concerned.

    What you all think?

Can see the bit about Croatia being true, he stuck with them instead of going to the EPL so he isn't just going to jump ship.

We need to win the league and need a manager who is purely dedicated to that, and that alone.

Interesting enough, though didn't Vata say they hadn't been contacted?

Vata said they had called Celtic but Celtic had not returned any calls.

Moyes would be superb choice but I can't see us paying £3m.

    £3million for Moyes?

A whip round would be needed.
