Premiership clubs eyeing Thompson...

Im undecided. It would be good to free up his wages but what happens if mcgeady and maloney have a dip in form? they are hardly proven players yet and it could happen, sure it happened to mcgeady last year. Thompson would then be first choice for me on the left. I still think he has it in him to return to better form, i'd give him to the summer but i can see people's point if they think we should sell him in january.

 

this is even better news than when keane signed.

 

West-Ham are reported to want to buy Thomo in the Transfer window in January also wanting Thomo is Derby County and they are desperate to sign him but its believed Thompson would love another crack in the premiership just as long as we get a few Million for him!

recently every time he starts we dont win ( dunfermline, hearts)

 

I've always liked him although he isn't the player he is, he's been a good servant and I'd wish him all the luck!

how was the hearts game thommo's fault i was there (as many of u would have been) and it was a) not a goal by hearts cause they fouled our goalie kicking the ball out of both his hands, and b) Telfer who shielded it bac 2 boruc when he should really have just cleared it, we was robbed! not thommos fault. i suppose its his fault we beat barca and had many wins over rangers with his contribution. u only remember the bad???? i like thommo and i dont think hes had much of a chance this season cause of all the talented young guns, but id like him 2 stay.. and am sure the ghirls agree he also looks gd in the hoops!! have ur own say by all means! this is mine

Thompson staying put










Alan Thompson will not be moving to The Premiership this January, according to his agent.
The Celtic midfielder has been kept on the sidelines by Bhoys boss Gordon Strachan, prompting speculation that he may be set to quit Celtic Park in the transfer window.
But Anthony McGill says that, although there has been interest from England, Thompson is focused on reclaiming his place in the Hoops first team.
"I've been in at Celtic to discuss a number of things and Alan's situation was one of them," he said.
"All I can say is that, at the moment, Alan is a Celtic player and he's happy to stay and fight for his place.
"During our discussion Celtic made it clear that they are not looking to offload Alan at this time and although he is desperate to play, the bottom line is he loves being part of the club.
"He accepts he will just have to get his head down and work hard to get back into the manager's plan.
"It's correct a Premiership club have enquired about his availability but from what Celtic have told me I will have to inform them that Alan is not moving anywhere.
"He is a Celtic player and still has 18 months to go on his contract, although in football things do change quickly."
Celtic boss Strachan added: "We are happy with everybody and the players know that if they were not wanted they would be told. And nobody has been told they have to leave."

 

i see tommo stayin for the duration ,he's been a real pro & done the buisness time and time again .

Why get rid ?

the guys happy to continue with us .Gs himself said he and sutton are a huge influence .

Tommo knows its a squad game ,he's more than capable of playin top level for us .Amazing delivery and whole hearted .
Ifor one hopes he stays , * comes and goes but pro's like tommo dont come around everyday bhoys and ghirls

i think its time for thompson to go although hes made us all very happy over the years with some very important goals but he just cant cut it here anymore
