Feeling a bit better now. I got out on Friday but I've slept most of the weekend. Still a bit sore but at least I'm moving about a bit now. Thanks for asking :50:

Lennon has to go in the summer. He is a passenger in our European away games and him with Keane wont work. Thanks for everything Lenny but it is time to go imo.His contribution will never be forgotten. The fans who booed him at CP against Boavista should be ashamed of themselves

Will you be changing your's to Stevie Wonder 7?

I have been a huge fan of Lennons but I know he is no longer good enough over a sustained period, the team comes before individual favourites. You will appreciate, I am sure, from my Username I have no axe to grind with Neil. I want to remember him for the player he was.

Yip I agree he's not as mobile as he was but he's still a clever player and when he's on a good game (which is 3 quarters of the time) he can use the little fitness he has to good effect, he still has a good footballing brain in my opinion and can fall back be a good third centre half at times, do you agree with that Lenny 1 ?

3/4 of the time at a stretch and that still isn't good enough considering the opposition. I'm sure Bertie Auld still has a good footballing brain so that isn't even an arguement. The system shouldn't be changed to accomodate him. He is either the best available defensive midfielder or he isn't. If he isn't you play the better option, and there is now a better option. Even without Roy Keane he needed replacing ASAP.

Well I'm from the same line of thinking as you, I believe we've gotta be ruthless looks like Lennon will just be more of a squad player now anyway when Keane comes in, and this defence of ours needs new blood possibly everyone out except McManus because if we were to go into The Champion's League next year with that back four and especialy those 2 full backs I'd be scared to look and also Big Bobo has proved he can't cut it at that level also maybe the big man should just be cover in this high European stage, what do you say to this ?

In the SPL with Keane patrolling in front of them, I believe most opposition attacks will be thwarted before the defense are called into attack, similar to 2 or 3 years ago.
In terms of Europe, I would hope we are not dominated quite as much with RK in midfield, however the defense is suspect. Telfer is barely good enough for the SPL. I think McManus and Balde are similar in the fact they are very physical, but overly and unnecessarilly physical at times. I think Du Wei can develope and adapt to this level. Balde has lapses in concentration but at this stage is still better than McManus.
As for left back, Camara for me, does just fine. Decent both defensively and attacking. All the possible replacements mentioned from the EPl or overseas are not any better . Ian Hatre, Paul Koncheskey etc..are no better than average, technically poor and command high wages.

The way this defence of ours is starting to leak goals makes me worried it should be nipped in the bud before it gets worse and if this means spending a few million in January then so be it.

As i said before the introduction of Keane into midfield will protect the defense much more thus less chances created and few goals conceeded. This gives us time to the summer to get the correct long term options rather than buy stop gaps (McNaughton for example)

Well I just hope Keane can settle our defence for the time being, and our defence shaky as it is should still be good enough to win the league, but if our board send us into The Champions league with a backline so shaky ever again I'll be livid at them. That was an embarrassment to us that farse in Slovakia against a nobody team and the fact that these so called advanced football experts and Celtic Minded people we have at the Celtic Staff aloud this to happen makes me think very deeply as to what they're all about.

Slovakia was partly due to the defense but largely down to the midfield. If you dominate midfield or even remotely competitive you don't get beat 5-0

Midfield weren't too clever as well yes but Artmedia pretty much figured out they could bi-pass our midfield by playing similiar wide passes to their wingers cause they knew our fullbacks were dodgy so this made it hard for Petrov and Lennon etc that night and in my opinion the full backs are still dodgy. Anyway forget this it's depressing discussing what happened and how it was aloud to happen by these leaders of The Celtic Staff, all I'm saying is if we go into The Champions League so vulnerable ever again they'll be * to pay.
