    I was wearing my Bobby Sands badge on Tuesday. One of my mates looked at it and said 'who's Robbie Sands?'. Unfortunately most young Irish people know * all about our history, at least in my experience.

    I do that as much as I can. I read Bobby Sands diary one night and it really changed me. I learned to try not let people intimidate me and feel sorry for them rather than get angry which is what my mum always taught me.

    In Paul Ferris' book 'Vendetta' he talks about his life after crime and stories of when he was a gangster, he mentions a meet with Johnny Adair which he was nervous about (Ferris being a well known Catholic and Republican supporter) but he says he felt more comfortable when Adair said he admired Bobby Sands for being willing to die, and die painfuly, for what he believed in.
