ROY KEANE has agreed an 18-month, £45,000-a-week contract to end his career with Celtic.

Keane is joining his boyhood heroes - as exclusively revealed in SunSport yesterday - after £2million funding from Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond to make him Scotland's highest paid player ever.

with strong characters in our dressing room(SUTTON HARTSON LENNON)KEANO will be joining a squad where his abilities will be seen as an asset not a threat to the club.

but also to many strong personalities can also lead to a clash and divisions in the squad. It should be interesting to see the next few weeks thats for sure.

This is a good day for Celtic FC. He took almost a 50% pay cut, im glad about that.

Man Utd during the 90's had loads of strong personalities in the dressing room, Schmeichel, Bruce, Pallister, Robson, Hughes, Keane, Cantona, Beckham. It doesnt do any harm to a club if players are not afraid to stand up and say "We played *" or whatever. Its when you don't have it and poor performance are accepted without someone giving ear bashings.

If players are afraid of position competition then they shouldn't be at Celtic. The best player should start, not time at club or wages, reputation

I just hope DD knows what he is doing. It should come good in the end. If one player cant make a club then i guess one player cant break it either. will it be Lennon Petrov and Keane in the middle do you's think?

got to say im so so happy bout the news, i mean as strachan has shown hes not really a martion o'niel figure who will be loyal to any player if they are not playing well. He plays his best team, and in my opinion however good niel lennon and stan petrov play keano is always gonny b ahead of them when it comes to pure genuine class.

Why, the past is the past, you dont get into the team because of what youve done at a previous club, especially when you are now 34.

red - since when has signing Keane been instead of Petrov????? We've got him at a helluva lot cheaper than other teams wee willing to pay. If he is the type of player we can expect when Madrid turn people down then count me in.

    Keane completes switch to Celtic

[IMG] Keane spent 12-and-a-half years at Old Trafford

Roy Keane has ended weeks of speculation and completed his move to Celtic by signing an 18-month deal.
The 34-year-old Irishman, who ended his Manchester United career in November, had interested several Premiership clubs and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
But, when Madrid cooled their interest, Celtic seized their chance.
The midfielder's deal is believed to be worth £40,000 a week, with Parkhead majority shareholder Dermot Desmond reported to be paying for half of it.
Keane is set to be unveiled at a news conference scheduled for 1330 GMT.
He will not be eligible to make his Celtic debut against Hearts at Tynecastle on New Year's Day as Scottish Premier League rules do not allow for players to be both registered and play on the first day of the new transfer window.
Keane will instead be aiming to face Clyde at Broadwood Stadium in the Scottish Cup third round the following weekend.
Premiership duo Bolton and Everton had approached Keane, while West Brom and West Ham were among other clubs to express their interest.
His move to Scotland comes after nearly 13 years under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and a well-documented falling-out with the club.
Keane was reported to have been critical of a number of his Manchester United team-mates in an MUTV programme which was pulled from the schedules because of its content.
Attention will now turn to where Keane will play in a Celtic line-up in which fellow veteran Neil Lennon has been performing well in the midfield holding role preferred by the Republic of Ireland international.
But Celtic captain Neil Lennon has just told BBC Sport that he believes Keane is a great signing for the Glasgow club.
And he has no doubt that both he and Keane are capable of playing together in the same team.
Just waiting on the press conferance it should be funny with GS just hope Petrov stays+I can't see Lenny staying at the end of this season,KEANO,KEANO,KEANO,KEANO,KEANO,KEANO,KEANO,

If we could get rid of Thompson & Varga. That could easily cover keane's wages. This is a clear indication of the ambition of the club for me

He'll run a mock up here and will play well for the next 2 years at least look at Bergamp and Lubo they were older than Keane and they could still do it he's the same.
