If you could have 1 back, at their prime, who would it be?

Hard to say because I've never saw Dalglish. So I go for Henrik.

larsson was a great player and him and jinky occupy first and second in my eyes as the best celtic player.dalglish is up there as a very good player at celtic, but not a great player.his liverpool days he went on to hit his peak and hit greatness.
but if i was to answer the question as which player was better at his peak??
    i'd have to say dalglish

    Henrik.

Because i've seen with my own eyes, his magic, while i've only heard about Dalglish. Two greats no doubt, but Larsson for me.

Yes and No Clagan. Larsson had a better scoring record yes but Dalglish was a supremely skilled footballer maybe/probably just slightly moreso than Larsson.

Also remember Daliglish played for us between the ages of 18-26, Larsson signed when he was about 26.

i know what you mean but i looked up kennys record at liverpool and he averaged a goal every 3 games, not great even in a tough league. i know there was a lot more to his game but i think henkes link up play was better too, although my judgement is based on watching old videos of king kenny when i was a kid. never had the pleasure of watching him in the flesh

Take into account Kenny wasn't always a forward aswell. For Celtic he regularly played in the midfield and also at Liverpool. Quite like Chris Sutton, he was similar to Dalglish but really knowhere near Dalglish's level. Dalglish also had world class technical ability, rarely seen in a British footballer.

I personally would say Dalglish was the better player over-all with their whole careers taken into consideration. Dalglish had about 14 great seasons in his peak, Larsson had 8-10. Dalglish also won more trophies I think but Larsson is not far behind.

Dalglish played for Celtic when they were probably one of the top 3 teams in Europe and then moved to Liverpool where that was also true. Dalglish with Liverpool only ONCE finished outside the top 2 in the League. In his whole 20 years as a player only once did his team not finish in the top two places in their League - some going.

If both of them were about today as 25 year olds and people knew what they were going to do i'd value Dalglish at £35m and Larsson at around £28m.

the best of a great batch of players, the quality street kids. i just think henke had it all, technique, good with both feet, brilliant header, great workrate, great provider, he'd probably find a cure for cancer if he put his mind to it. as i said though obviously i'm biased having never seen kenny in the flesh

It's a close one Clagan and I dont think many would disagree with you. I think Dalglish was just slightly superior in almost every department but Larsson had good pace so it's really too close to call as Larsson as you say was great at everything he didnt have a weakness.

What a question:50: Very similar as in Euro medals and * countries as far as winners. I'd maybe go for Larsson because he's played in a world cup semi. Close though.

What has not been taken into consideration either is that Larsson lost a season with a broken leg (not many come back even stronger than before) and he also went on to do wonders at Barca and Man U. Larsson for me

Liverpool were every bit as good as Barca and that's hard for me to say.

Dalglish was more talented, but Larsson was a better striker. Plus, it's Larsson.

Dalglish spent 21 years contracted to clubs as a player and those clubs Celtic and Liverpool won the League in 15 of them. Reached 5 European Cup finals and won 3 of them. Dalglish's teams were world class the whole time he spent as a player.

 Having had the privilege of seeing both play its a hard question as they were both world class but Dalglish just shades it as he had a slightly better all round game imo..:50:
