I dont think they are against Ireland per se, more that they use our affliation with Ireland as ammunition to be against us.

Again if you look further, you will find supporters of other SPL teams going against Rangers for there apparent affiliation with England !!

OK. In that thread it was also mentioned that Celtic fans supported Derry City in a match against Gretna and those guys from Hearts forum are angry 'cause they didn't support scottish team. I know that Derry City is kind of a friend club, but supporting them in a match versus domestic team...

Again, probably more to do with stirring up "Antil Celtic/Irish" thought among there own fans.

Celtic fans have no allegiance to Gretna, none whatsoever. However, given the higher ratio than other SPL teams among or support of people of Irish decent, it is not unbelieveable that a number of our fans would have an interest in the game, and be more inclined to see Derry City win.

For the record, I was supporting Gretna all the way, as I have no Irish lineage. :50:

That's where the stench of hypocrisy kicks in from those twatts. When Celtic play in the Champions League do the majority of Hearts fans want us to win? I can tell you they don't. So they are hoping for a Scottish team to lose in Europe. It's a double standard and I would laugh in any Hearts fans' face that ever brought that subject up.

In my country there is a big rivalry between Red Star an Partizan, but when one team plays in Europe, the other one's fans always cheer for the good of our football. I'm also interested in this: are Celtic fans religious, because I've heard a lot about it?

Fairly said. Are there bad Celtic fans, you know, getting involved in fights and police?

As with all groups of supporters, you have your fair share of idiots. It sadly comes with the territory. I would like to believe, that our ratio of idiots to good supporters is less than most, and certainly streets away from that of our Knuckle-Dragging cousins across the city !! :50:

    Well said that man !!

I think the only thing that comes 2nd to your team winning is watching one of you rivals losing.

It can be seen everytime Rangers drop points, with thread upon thread and reply upon reply being dedicated to it on this very website, and rightly so. Defeat of a rival, domestically or abroad, is a gain to our club, not to mention bragging rights the following Monday !! :50:

Precisely my friend. And while they continue to be a constant shame, perpetual embarassment and occasional disgrace, our Club, and its majority of well behaved supporters (vast majortiy may I add) will only continue to flourish, both on the field and off.

What the Rankers fail to realise, is that when a player in the EPL is looking for a substantial travelling support for a testimonial, or a club for a Pre-Season friendly, they are not going to foot the police bill for a Cat A risk fanbase such as Rangers, rather keep the money within the club by inviting an impeccable (with a few exceptions, as is natural) travelling support to there ground !! :50:

This may sound awkward, but I'll ask anyway. Who supports Rangers? Is it in the family, or people hate Celtic and then turn towards Rangers or is it just choosing between two great clubs or is it something else? I personally don't admire them at all, and it's not because I'm behind Celtic.

To be fair, I would say about 90% of Celtic supporters are 2nd, 3rd or further generation. In Scotland, where your allegiances lie is generally drummed into you from a young age. I was an exception to the rule, not really selecting my team until I was about 8, but generally when you go to school at age 5, you already know which side you fall on.

Perhaps someone from a more Celtic orientated background could elaborate !! :50:

Can't believe how many of them are jealous of Glasgow.

Your team is *. Your history doesn't compare to ours. Your probably going to be the next Gretna. Your owner doesn't have a scooby. Your stadium is just laughable. You don't even have the best players in Edinburgh. Your biggest legend is a fat * who fails at management. Your kits are just so * ugly. Every time you get a good player he leaves because you're a small club.

    * off Hearts, you * *.
