Hate to keep harping on about it but to me 4 in a row is progress. Last 16 of Europe twice is progress. Concentrating on youth development like never before in our history is progress. Becoming one of the only debt-free major clubs in Europe is progress.

This season alone, it has gotten beyond a few performances.

As I've said here and in the past, stravhan is a capable manager of winning the league and it would be stupid to get shot of him mid season, but come next year we'll be in the same place. K want us to go out and get someone better in, after season. And surely there is.

Your last two points, not strachan.
Anyone can see that his first two league titles were against weak opposition, but yes well done to the man. Last year showed that he struggled a lot to win that one, even though the opposition was just as bad, we should have been looking to win that league easier. Same goes for this year.
Our squad is good yet he doesn't seem to get the bestout of them.

As for Europe we have been set at the same level of only winning a home for years. His progression into last sixteen is not progression and more with luck. The last manager was getting the same amount of points yet never got there, so not progresion in my eyes. Especially after this year.

the same weak opposition who took the league off us on the last day just before strachan started. if thats true, wot does that say about us? before strachan came along that we were weak too?

I agreed with the changes he made throughout the game but not his starting 11.

    1) Yes Strachan. It may be Lawwell who has turned our debt but it's Strachan that faciliates it by winning with one arm tied behind his back.

    2) The argument that Rangers are * is a complete moot point. Why this gets anytime whatsoever is beyond me.

    3) Your argument is Strachan is "lucky"? In football they say you make your own luck. Consistently getting far in Europe is not luck, wait till you see next year. How far do you expect us to go? Last 8? Final of the CL? A bit of realism please....

People think I cannot see a bad thing said about Strachan but you are right on one thing. The away performances (in Europe) are completely unacceptable. However where I see us being active in trying to rectify this hoodoo, some people think Strachan sits on his * not bothered? Is our away record terrible? Yes. Are we working on it? Yes.

While the SPL is in our hands and while we make the group stages and beyond then I'm happy to keep cracking at it.

I disagree with all who said we didnt play well yesterday we were cautious for the first half, that is why Rangers had chances... We were no were near poor yesterday thought everyone played well.

    1. We played with 1 striker so their 5-man midfield would not overrun us
    2. Our other 2 strikers are out of form and couldn't be relied on
    3. Crosas would have had no time and space in this game, it's not the kind of match he thrives in.
    4. Hartley brought some steel to the midfield, adding Crosas to a midfield including McGeady and Nakamura would have made us too wak.

The bolded part is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever seen.

Anyway, they are my reasons for why I support Strachan's tactics from yesterday, and judging by the result it was the right selection.

What sensible reasons do you have for believing this was the wrong selection other than "no way should..." blah blah blah (as you said in your post)

Strachan is the best manager Celtic could have right now. Who on earth could Celtic get in to do a better job? Mourinho? Maybe Sir Alex will come back to Scotland...

Three years ago, if any fan was told that Manager X would come in and win the league for three years in a row, set club records in the Champions League, win the League Cup twice as well as the Scottish Cup, and bring some fantastic European memories for the fans, every single fan would say welcome aboard.

Because his name is Gordon Strachan, fans look for any excuse not to support him.

One guy here even said we won the league cup in spite of Strachan rather than because of him. That's the most ludicrous thing I, personally, have ever read.

Sorry mikey but I genuinely don't think that we have a squad good enough to win a European trophy. I include the UEFA cup in that. I know it's not impossible but I still think we are a couple of players short of having the quality to win the UEFA cup.

I believe this squad could do it (UEFA Cup), and would be absolutely certain if you add a very good left back into the mix and perhaps one other top player.

My point was though that we shouldn't ve thinknig about the UEFA Cup as it's a lot of huff and puff for nothing. The CHAMPIONS :50: League is where we belong and we will arguably never have a good enough squad on paper to win that.

What we will have I am certain, is a very good side, certainly good enough for the last 16 of the CL, and with each years attempt we might jsut get that bit of luck to take u last 8 and beyond.

I would think out of the squad of players we have at least 7/8 of them are good players.
The manager can only buy what looks like a good player,if in naylors case he looked good and was good for his first year and then turns * what is the manager to do about it,celtic dont have cash spare to just replace players when they want.
If we only lived in a world where every player that came to celtic was a gauranteed success.
Every one keeps listing the way he is with the press and how they hate it, and this is the press we moan as being hunish.....The hun....The daily hun.... i would have though it was loved the way treated these snakes.
He aint the best manager we have ever had but he is * far from being the worst we have had or will have in years to come.

No point is reasoning with the antiWGS brigade. Just put them in a cage with pot of tea, some cups and cakes and enjoy the show:icon_mrgreen:

Like it or not WGS is a success machine di-di-di-di-owww! WGS- I hope you stay on the scene like a ginger success machine.

Question-where has the expectation of a team that is as successful as WGS's but also flair-filled with lots of beautiful football. I am approaching middle age and I cant remember one (not old enough to really remember Stein days). Where has this expectation come from?
