Obviously it would seem that Keane thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread. He should remember that it is he who is unemployed, it is he who is well nigh unemployable with his crocked bones and his motor mouth. We need to drop ANY interest in him before lasting damage is done to our club. If DD thinks Keane would be able to play for Celtic let DD pick up the entire tab and leave it to GS as to when/if he gets a game.

Yeah Sanders you're right, Keane has probably got a nice wee 5 Million in The Bank plus all his accets properties etc..he's always said how much of a Big fan he is of Celtic and how much he would love to End his career with us he's 34 now he'll be finished in about 2 years, if I was him I would offer to play for Celtic for free he's made his money and he'd go down in History for such a gesture.

I don't think we need him we have got a good Midfield already why upset there style of play for Roy Keane to fit into,True he can play the sweeper role but as i've said we have a good squad of players+Lenny can go on for a couple years minium easy+there's Paul Lawson waiting to take Lennon place once he has retired(hope not!)
Keane doesn't need money he should have a few bob in the bank my m8 told me he likes buying and selling houses+the money he has earned when he played for Man-Utd was 80,000-grand a week so how much would he be willing to take-20,000 or 25,000-grand a week that is a lot of money for some-one at his age but he would be a good signing anyway it would make Rangers look like a pub team!

Well bhoys if he is as big a celtic fan as any one of us, or as big a fan as he claims to be then money would not be an issue. He is a multi-millionaire for christs sake!

Signing him could be potentially disasterous for the club.

    1. He would be Grossly overpaid at anything more than £20,000 (and that would be pushing it)
    2. He is a loose cannon, can you imagine him lasting 90mins in an old firm match!
    3. He would put a happy team out of joint. There isn't going to be an extra place for him, someone, one of our team will be dropped.
    4. He is a big mouth, if he thinks some of the young world class players at Man Utd aren't good enough to grace the same pitch as him then what will he say about our bhoys???
    5. If he is prepared to tell alex feurguson and his management team what to do at their club, then what will he tell GS to do at a club he clearly thinks belongs tohim....no OWES him a living.
What anyone thinking about this must realise that this feels like an office fling. The flirting is incredibly exciting and the nights of passion are something to look forward to, but the * will screw you in the end and make you look like an * in front of all your friends.

All this against most people on this forums argument.

The shortness of people's memories is unfuckingbelievable.

John Harston failed a medical at Spurs and Rangers 6 months before he came here for 6 million (Coventry, 12 Apps, 6 Gls, Relegated)

Chris Sutton managed to score one goal in 28 League appearances for Chelsea and after one season was on his way to Celtic for 6million

12million for those two, have they done badly here despite their terrible form when they were transferred?

I agree, but it looks to me like he's greedy!! I've always thought him a great player but I don't want him at CP, give Stan and extended contract with the money!

A goal every couple of games sounds * good to me in the premiership especially in a team that was relegated.

On Keane thanks but no thanks.

Hardly ever fit , was unhappy with the training conditions with Ireland * knows what he'd think of ours at the moment, and he's got a chip on his shoulder that seems to be growing by he month maybe leaving Man Utd will mellow him a little but i doubt it.

We could probably bring 2-3 squad players in in January for Keanes wages.

One plus side is the replica shirts with Keane on the back would probably fly of the shelves?

People forget very quickly that Roy Keane's immense performances in the qualifiers were the reason that we got to the WC '02. Portugal & Holland were favourites. He was carrying an injury(hip) for most of that campaign.

My point about Hartson is that he could have easily be a hun now only because he failed medicals. Roy Keane won't fail medicals like he did.

Are you trying to tell me that Thompson, Lennon, Hartson, Sutton came up here because they were playing so fantastically well in the premiership. BULLSHIT. Roy Keane wanted to play for Celtic before he was a professional. You can't say that for the mentioned above.

Keane is negotiating contracts, its a tactic. Every player's agent uses it. Balde, Boruc, Hartson etc all did this to get wages that the club didn't want to give them

Players should not be picked because they wanted to play for Celtic before they discovered they were good enough to play else where.

The qualifying for the 02 world cup was 4 years ago a lot of water has passed under the bridge from then. I will not argue with the fact that Keane was a fantastic footballer and if fully fit now he may well be a very good addition to our squad, but if he isn't fully fit and is disruptive it could undo some good work done by GS and his team.

Agents are employed by players not the other way round so and are used as scape goats for greedy players.

My point is that Keane is being linked with Celtic because he is a big fan of Celtic, otherwise Celtic wouldn't get him.

Between the time Keane made the interview with MUTV and leaving, what was the teams form?

Agents get a percentage of a players deal, its in their interest to get players big contracts.
