Roy Keane Yes or No?

I would drop nobody for him, just let him fight for his place like everyone else.

 

Keane is in the same mould as Makele, Gattuso, Xavier,Cambiasso, Viera, Emerson, etc.. and compares favourabley with most of them.
Every team requires a strong holding player to allow the Ronaldhinno's, Robinho's and kaka's to play. This guy has 2 years left at this level and people are questioning him. Lenny has been my favourite player for 4yrs but he cannot compete at this level. Keane is better and quite simply takes his place. Don't allow personal sentiment to get in the way of whats best for the team.

 

we could at least give him a chance guys it will make better competition for places in the team

 

I am sure a few top class sides in Europe would like to have him in midfield next year even if he doesn't play all the games. Watch this space!

hummm... well just realised that Keane plays where my main bhoy plays! disaster! out of the two irish bhoys, id prefer lenny, but if its possible ill have them both! but Lennon is my no1, and no 1 replaces him, lenny is great, (my motm 2day!) hes had a great season, and came 2 celtic when he was in his prime, shows his dedication 2 the hoops, which i love! theres only one neil lennon and hes our captain 2!

 

I dont want to look like am picking on your posts lenny but im not letting personal sentiments get in the way, i do like the guy and his football but i just dont think he would be good for celtic or do the clubs name any good if he came and lost the plot with a tantrum or something, celtic have been there and done that and they players never lasted much longer, are we not getting ahead of ourself as he aint signed or done good/bad against the club, so should we not wait and see what happens? Although if he came i dont think G.S would put him in the team without earning his place! Can we agree on that plees,

Petrov will not leave Celtic the now my be in 2/3 years but not now,If Roy Keane was going to sign for the bhoys do you think Stan The Man Would want to leave with our Midfield looking very strong,Petrov,Lennon,Nakamura,Pearson,Maloney(when magic fit)then we have Keane what a squad of players we could have if Keane came eh bhoys? LOL WHY WOULD WE STAN BE DROPPED IF KEANE ARRIVED? thats riduculous the only player that would be dropped would be lennon. you cant be serious in saying that lennon and keane in the same team. what would be the point in having two holding players in the team? stupid. Keane is faster,stronger, more intelligent and younger than Lennon. So maybe its time we shipped lennon out. Hes past his best and quite honestly keane is a better player.far better

 

Not so stupid, Kerr. That's the modern football: 2 DM's plus two offensive, creative midfielders. Vs teams with strong midfield Keane + Lenny wouldn't be bad choice.
But in most circumstances you're right. Petrov + Keane will be nice but it's not a long-term solution. Sad for Lenny but it has to come.

 

I think Roy Keane would to Celtic the power of good.

He would enhance Celtic's profile, He would probably attract more player to the club and more of Roy's fans would probably take more of an interest in Scottish football.

My personal opinion is Keane is a great player and leader make no mistake about it, but and this is a big BUT he is an out and out trouble maker, apart from man u look at the carry on with the R.O.I at the last world cup it's just not a one off thing with him he's notorious for causing it.

He only want's to fulfill a childhood ambition and pull on the hoops, run out at Paradise against the monkeys and kick the * all over the park, something the majority of us would love to do as well but we ain't Roy Keane and sad to say he's not the same Roy Keane as 5 years ago.

So no to Keane, interestingly where that little judas * who was his replacement at man u oh that's right loaned out to nearly 2nd div Leeds. haha swings and roundabouts eh!!!!

 

yeh id like to see keane at celtic,hes a great player and id say he'd do a good job at celtic even if he is like 35 or watever,but if he doesnt come to celtic then im not too bothered.
