[Spoiler Alert] Sopranos

Discussion in 'TC Media' started by Craiglang, Jan 27, 2016.

  1. Watched it all last year with old flat mate, second time seeing it and it's just * brilliant.
Was thinking about it again just yesterday and would love to watch it through again.
If I get furloughed, it's very likely to be what I watch for the first week.

  2. Could watch it over and over & keep picking up wee bits I didn’t notice the previous time(s).

    What a show.

  3. Think I will blast through this for the sixth time after I finish Ozark.

On lockdown so might as well.

    Incredible show. Best ever, imo

  4. Just finished it again @Sean Daleer

    Gets better every time!

  6. I've watched the sopranos right through a number of times, but it was only recent I noticed the mirror in this scene, can't believe I'd never noticed it. Suppose it goes along with what Paulie was saying about how you drag a bunch of ghouls around with you, of the folk you've whacked.

  7. Watched it through like ten tunes and learn and notice things you didn’t see before every time

  8. I'm on series 4 just now, albeit it's the 13th time of watching every episode.

  9. Watched it again recently, just excellent

  11. The best ever.

  12. No contest. Best series of all time. Heh heh

  13. Tried this a couple times but never watched past the first episode. Finally giving it a go 5 episodes in, decent enough but I take it it’s a slow start as it’s not living up to the hype so far?

  14. I remember I watched it for the first time on my dad’s recommendation when I was 16, thought all the characters were so cool. Watching it now as a near 23 year old you really appreciate just how scummy and stupid they all are lol. Paulie walnuts is just an endless pit of comedy material. Yet even in spite of all the malapropisms, the pathetic and uncoordinated fights and killings, there is still a gravity that no other shows can match. It’s a testament to just how talented David Chase is, and of course how great an actor the likes big Jim Gandolfini was.

  15. * like you annoy me:56:

Take it you wanted * getting whacked every 5 minutes and big action pack scenes And explosions? It’s a drama about the struggles of a mafia boss and his family, Tony’s mental health and how even the hardest looking * can be crumbling on the inside. The slow parts are slow for a reason, watch them.

It's the same with The Wire.A lot of people don't make it past the first couple of episodes, oblivious to the fact that they're introducing you to the characters and building the story...they end up missing out big time.

If you want gratuitous * scenes, dragons and midgets then gtf and watch Game of * Thrones or some other *.

  16. Also,Christopher's intervention is one of the best scenes ever and funnier than anything in Pine Barrens..

  17. Aye I’ve had countless arguments with * about The Wire as well, some * just like brain dead action first and worry about the actual story later.

But GOT is the same mate, slow as * for parts of the first 4 seasons really. And don’t be dissing it, it’s the best ever along with The Sopranos and The Wire for me. Took me 5 watches of the first season to get properly into it though. Once you get past the castles and dragons and * and focus on the back stabbing and politics of it all it’s unreal.

  18. Loved this scene:

  19. I must have seen every episode 5 times and some of my favourites a lot more than this.
The first episode isn’t actually that great but well worth persevering.
Not a huge fan of Pine Barrens. I like the episode where Tony brings old man Bacala out of retirement to whack Mustang Sally. The whole 2nd series with Richie Aprile was brilliant as well.
