SAMARAS

Hate to say it, but I used to like him... He scored a lot of dramatic, beautiful goals in seasons past.

I think the way the support has been taunting him, though, has only made him worse. IT HAS had an effect on him. Same with McGeady, by BOTH sets of supporters, both Celtic and whoever we are playing.. Hasn't helped at all.

Anyway, I hope we get a good "chunk of change" for Sammy, so we can bring in some fresh talent.

 

He scored some good goals but typically against teams like killie. He failed to impress in Europe and old firm games

I like Samaras, I think he's a great lad with a great heart and bundles of football skill. However I think the SPL could be the worst possible league for him to play in, the roughness of the league does not suit him. However if he does move on I wish him nothing but the best and I hope he can find a league and club where he can find his feet.

 

Samaras proved what he was like in Israel last season. Getting a performance out of the same player in the SPL is another thing.

I'd sell him if we can.

i would never let samaras go for £1.5million i think that is a joke he is still a young guy with alot of pace and has a great first touch.. he was really good against argentina the other nite.. maybe we are playing him wrong? he always takes stick off a large section of the celtic fans because he can be frustrating and i can understand that but £1.5 million for a young international player who ran amock in the dutch league and has played in the premiership... nochance would i take £1.5 million and i hope celtic arnt nieve enough to do so either.

 

stokes turned his back on celtic for the money to go to sunderland... strachan said at the time samaras wanted to play for celtic he had more money on offer from other clubs most notibly in germany.. i would like to have sum1 play for club before the money.

 

stokes was a young lad everyone would have chose the money at that age. He also knows how to score in the our league something sami seems to struggle with

 

A strikers job is to score goals Samaras doesn't score enough and he's had plenty of chances, so he should be sold imo. Skippy was preferred and has a higher price than Samaras because he scored goals.

 

i think big sami gets some unfair criticism. yes hes infuriating at times but hes only a year older than paul mcgowan and i have heard many say hes too young and not ready for a starting place. think if some would get off his back with constant criticism then he may do better because we all know he can perform!

also 1.5m is no were near good enough for a fully fledged international who has played in the eredivisie and epl.
