  2. Rest in Peace. One of the greatest to ever play this sport.

  3. I’m surprised he was only 82. I don’t know why but it feels like he should be so much older.

Seemed like a really nice guy. I’m glad he had a good life.

  5. Maybe the most significant person in the history of football, in terms of what he brought to the game and how he raised its profile outside of the pitch.

    RIP

  7. Sad news. Anyone who's in to football has lost a part of it tonight. One of the greatest to ever set foot on a football pitch. A humble man and a sad lose to the football world. RIP PELE!

I actually managed to see Pelé play, when his Santos team toured Europe, as a 12 year old in 1973…they were beaten by Plymouth Argyle 3-2 at Home Park but the great man did score from the penalty spot…!!

  13. Took my bhoy to Brazil 2014, in São Paulo subway going to Argentina game the Brazilians were all singing at the Argentines,

Pele scored a thousand goals maradona scored cocaine

    and another was

Peles won 3 World Cups Argentina have won 2

Obvious but Pele was adored by Brazil and many who just love fitba

  14. That first bit man, boak inducing..

  15. I think he has a stronger claim to the GOAT status than Maradona. I was born in 88 and it was widely accepted that he was the goat until some time in the mid-2000’s, when people started to say it was Diego.
