[Link] Omar Elabdellaoui

Celtic are eyeing £4 million-rated Olympiacos full-back Omar Elabdellaoui.

The Scottish champions have earmarked the Norwegian international as a target in their January transfer push.

Elabdellaoui has moved firmly onto the Parkhead radar as the club hunts a long-term replacement for Swede Mikael Lustig.

The defender, who has 34 caps for Norway, has emerged as a suitable option, but he would be ineligible to play in the Europa League having starred in the tournament for his current club.


Elabdellaoui has a contract with the Greek outfit until 2021, but Celtic are interested.

The Hoops have also looked at Belgian international Timothy Castagne

Ellabdellaoui does not have such a prohibitive price tag and is on the list of targets.

Hoops scouts have drawn up a list of other possibilities with Olympiacos defender Elabdellaoui, 27, emerging as a real contender.

The full-back started his career at Manchester City and also played for Ronny Deila’s former club Stromgodset in Norway.

Seems like a decent replacement and if they have to pay 4m it would be a reasonable price for an area that needs freshening up.
