Martin O'Neill

Discussion in 'World Football' started by Hughesie, Oct 9, 2010.

  1. I read a small article in the paper yesterday discussing the final days of MO'N at villa. Rumour had it that he had completly lost his respect in the dressing room at villa. Although I belive this was a complete load of rubbish and it was probably just a case of lack of respect for MO'N.

Anyway onto the thread - just wundered what your views for the future of o'neill are. Is he set to replace Roy Hodgson at Anfield if there run continues / is he now set for international management / or are his days over and he will take up a director of football role?.

  2. scotland manager..........:icon_mrgreen:

as if! and to think some people (even some celtic fans ) think he played negative football!!! utter nonsense

  3. He's just taking a step back. A breather. He will not need anyone to put his name about. He's well respected.

I heard that he and the Chairman at Villa always got on because the guy was minimal interference, maximum support. That's normally perfect. Nobody knows why he left for sure. It will come out soon enough. I don't get why everyone says it was about the Milner sale when the guy requested a move and clearly wanted to leave. What could they have done? They got good money.

obviously MON was a celtic legend,

however some of his signings were questionable, whether they were successes for VILLA. He got a lot of money to spend over his time at villa, but the team always fell flat at the business end of the season.

  6. i think hes destined to become the new liverpool manager if their run continues under hodsgon.
