    Find of the season

I think the find of the season has to be Lee Naylor. He was immense against Milan and has been immense all season. To ask a guy playing with Wolves to step up and perform the way he has is a credit to him. I just hope he finishes the season by being awarded player of the year.

  2. the guy was world class last night

  3. agreed, he was all over the park! awsome..

  4. I think Lee Naylor has proved since his first game that he has the potential to be a class act. After last night I dare anyone to tell me he couldn't fit it ANY team in europe. What a superb player! He is due a goal sometime soon, and if he got it last night it would have been fitting for his efforts. He was my man of the match last night. I'm not sure how long he has left on his contract, but he is a player - along with Boruc, Naka, and JVoH - that we should be building our squad around. Do you think he will stay at Celtic and honour his contract? Or do you think that having definitely alerted top clubs that he's good enough, he'll look for a move to a bigger club? I honestly can't see why anyone would think Carlos or Ashley Cole are better than him.

Thanks for this thread, I have already been wondering why there are no naylor appreciation threads!

He had an excellent game again, can't think of a poor game since he has been at cp. we must extend his contract! shame for him the 2nd most hyped player plays the same position on the national team, otherwise he would have been capped a few times!

I salute you Lee Naylor! :celt_2:

  6. I hope he doesnt leave he is our best defender and one of our best players.

    Would say Boruc-Naka-Naylor

  7. Lee Naylor = legend, he was unreal again last night. he doesnt get the credit he deserves. imo he is the spl player of the year

  8. I think he is alright but some people think he is one of our best players. His crossing can be excellent but sometimes i think he is lax positionally. He played well last night as the rest of the defence did. I think after not having a specific left back in the team for what seemed like centuries (and the joke that was Mo Camara) people are delighted to have one.

Hopefully he and Wilson can develop together with Naylor improving positionally and Wilson improving his delivery.

  9. Yeah, I posted something similar on him in another thread today. I think a really top class left back who is great attacking and defending is a very very rare thing. On this form if he was even playing for a poor EPL team bids would be well over 10 million. As it is with SPL players always going too cheap, I still think we would be mad to sell him at all but would be looking for 6 million+. Best natural left back we have had in decades, possibly ever. I reckon if he was a bit taller and faster he would even seriously interest the very top continental teams.

  10. Good player but be careful ghuys, some Tic fans said Petrov was world class, :56:, not saying Naylor is being touted as world class? :87:

  11. Cant judge Stan's SPL form yet. He would have done better at a bigger EPL or European club IMO. Petrov was better than anything we have now in his position. So was Shaun. Lets not fool ourselves, they were very good players for Celtic. Am sickened the way people forget so soon just how good Petrov was as a box to box midfielder coming in scoring goals etc. A big part of our problem with performances has been that JJ and Grav are no where near as good a balanced player as Stan. We need to sort that in the summer.

  12. Did we not buy him from a Championship team for 600k? A decent player yes, the best left back we've had in ages, yes. Top quality? Probably not I'd have to say.

  13. he,s class.who nos he might break his duck against you no who on sunday

  14. Yes everybody is entitled to their opinion, but its obvious by your post your opinion is HIGHLY suspect.
You might be sickened, but its not me that is changing his tune, my opinion of Petrov is well documented and for seasons!
Again mark my words Petrov will not improve! :87:
Good player in the SPL however not much more than that.

If you check thread "Find of the season" you'll see a Naylor appreciation thread.

  16. Naylor's been a very good signing for us and he's put in some superb shifts in Europe. I don't think the guy is as good as some people seem to think though. His crossing can be very inconsistent and his distribution sometimes (mainly at Celtic Park) is woeful. Don't get me wrong he's had a terriffic season. Good player - World class? Get away. If he had a bit more pace then the potential might be there.

  17. So you think someone who keeps the likes of Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka and Pirlo in his back pocket isn't top quality? Away and throw * at the moon

    argh, how could I forget.

  19. He was also part of the defence that let 3 past them in Copenhagen. Keep some perspective.

  20. lee naylor = pure class just like o'dea and big mick
