I know what you mean mate, Ki's passing is better but not by much. Kayal has made some excellent defence splitting passes. More than Ki. So has Commons but there passing ability is still not as good as Ki's.

It's his range of passing that does it.

Nobody can beat Chico's cross field passes though.

That was * infuriating.

Could land a 60 yard pass on a five pence piece but was hopeless at the simple stuff. Mind boggling.

 

we havent had a CM in recent times that could hit a diagonal like he could, it was Scholes-esque at times....the rest was * apart from the odd wondergoal

 

To be honest, Landry N'Guemo was a better passer than anybody ever at Celtic.......especially passes about 2 yards away

 

I had extreme hatred of N'Guemo. Never seen somebody give the ball away so much in my life, tackle to win it back, lose it, tackle again...

Ki can wiggle the ball out of tight spots, even if he's going to have a hard time getting out of the pressing zone of several players..

 

He can't really mate and I'm a big fan. He excels at picking wee pockets of space so he doesn't need to.

Done brilliant to win balls from the opposition, then couldn't pass 2 yards on to a team mate.

 

No he cannot - a lot of the times I've seen him being squeezed by the opposition, he will do a 180 and pass it backwards.

You've just contradicted yourself there.

 

If he gets cornered and has to make a back or sideways pass at the very least he's keeping posession, I much prefer players to do that than try to take on the opposition in front or squeeze a ball through them when it's just not going to happen nine times out of ten.

 

It wasn't a criticism, just saying that he can't do what Kayal can in that situation which Leone was saying he could.

He can pick a pass but not often enough for me ,maybe its our game that he is not suited to ,maybe just a second or two too quick for him ,maybe better playing in Italy or a League similar where Midfielders like Ki get that extra second to play the ball .

 

lot of smallish pitches on the SPL too, might have an effect, when he plays with Korea, the pitches look Bigger

also the fact we often play very defensive sides making it tight, meaning its difficult at times to thread passes
