Ki

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Zander, Jul 25, 2011.

  1. Midfield 5 in Europe will be:

    Wanyama

    Forrest Brown Kayal Ledley

  2. Was it not Ki's fault we got beat today??

    Has to be.... surely!!

Ki wont be here next season, his contract is running down and the club will look to move him on and hopefully recoup some of his transfer fee. Figures north of £6m are way off the mark. If Hooper is priced at £7m then Ki will be lucky to go for half that. He has flattered to decieve though I hope he gets that move to a European giant where he can shine. Apparently Europe is where he is at his best. The Sion match must have been a blip.

There will be no urgency from Lennon or the board to sell Ki, unfortunately.

I fully expect him to be here unless he wants to go or a ridiculous bid comes in.

  5. Having only played about........6 games?

Yeah, thats why he is so inconsistent with us. He needs to be playing in Serie A or La Liga. The SPL is not technical enough for him.

  7. Probably be better suited in a league were you have about 5mins on the ball at a time.

You're correct though - he is most certainly inconsistent with us!

  8. fixed

  9. This is all turning into a Marc Crosas debate all over again

  10. Was poor in most of those as well but is still inexperienced at that level so its understandable. I think he is the player we are most likely to sell to generate funds and to me is the most expendable so win win!

  11. I agree.

Its always Ki who seems to be the only one that other teams would seem to be interested in buying or at least who people on here think that we could get money for. Does that mean the rest of the midfield are not rated outwith the SPL? How much would you think we could get for any of our midfielders if there was anybody interested in them?

  13. I assume that all of our midfield are rated by other managers - I think Ki is the only regular midfielder who we would consider selling.

    I reckon:

    Commons - £2m approx.

    Ledley - £3 - £5m approx.

    Kayal - £2 - £4m approx.

    Victor - £3 - £4m approx.

    Forrest - £4 - £6m approx.

    Brown £3 - £4m approx.

    Ki - £3 - £4m approx.

I notice that people say that Ki would be more suited to a Spanish or Italian side,if that were the case would he not be an asset to us in Europe next season as opposed to the normal Scottish type midfielder?

The same people saying this will be back in July looking for players good enough to perform in the CL.

Also baffling is how many people can more or less rate Ki as the worst player in our squad while at the same time expecting professional managers to pay between £3-6 million for him.

To say he is suited elsewhere is a myth.

Henrik Larsson was more suited to playing with Barcelona than he was Celtic, that doesn't mean he was * in the SPL during his peak years

He simply is not good enough to be a first pick for Celtic with such an array of talent we have in midfield.

  17. Wasn't that talented today hammer, neither brown nor ledley can provide the passing to get through a packed defence.

  18. One poor game doesn't mean we need Ki, we've played well without him in the side all year long. We've struggled to win far more when he is in the team than when he is out of it.

And you think Ki can? Based on what exactly. His passing range goes from left to right only. I struggle to recall him opening any packed defence up this season, or any for that matter.
