Funny that people are comparing Samaras and Ki. Ki, generally a deeper lying CM, has outscored the striker Samaras this season.

He has next to no athletic ability, one of the slowest footballers I have ever seen. And I would agree with you that if he was sitting deep playing incisive passes all the time he would be a great player but he rarely risks anything, instead he plays square passes the majority of the time. For someone who some on here class as a passing playmaker his passing isn't ambitious enough.

Samaras has been played as a winger alot this season and even if he hasn't scored many goals he has created plenty and been one of our better players this year. Not everything can be measured by stats.

He has created less than Ki though.

he has less assists/goals than Ki but not everything can be measured with stats, When Samaras has played out wide he has played very well and been instrumental in the team getting quite a few good results. Only ki's biggest fans could argue that Ki has had a good season.

I'm not arguing against Samaras, I'm just saying Ki has outscored and out assisted him despite playing and starting less games.

    He is underated on here.

And you deduce from that that I suggested that he has to prove himself? I think you should contact the Daily Record pronto with that type of fabrication. I salute you sir. :icon_mrgreen:

"We should recoup some money for him. Commons has had a poor season this year for one reason and another, and I think that Brown has shown himself to be a better player than he has been in recent seasons. The team needs his drive when Kayal is out."

To use the full paragraph will give it more context.
You say Brown has improved this season.
You say Brown is needed when Kayal is out.
A player who is only needed as a replacement despite improvement led me to deduce that you felt he had not proved himself before this season.

I cant understand some people on this forum. The Ki thread seems to be the new Sammy thread. Sammy has been playing well of late and deserves any credit he has been given considering the roasting he got on here by many, some of the comments being totally degrading and discusting.

My point is we should not be dragging sammy into this debate to defend Ki as this will only prove that regardless whether you are on form and playing well you could still be lambasted for having less favourable statistics than the next player. In that case we should be slaughtering the whole team.

I just wonder where did all these people go when Ki was playing really well for us, where they too busy to notice or where they hogging up the Sammy thread.

He is vastly over rated as far as I'm concerned.

Approximately half of the forum who see to think he is something he is not.

As far as I can see people seem to think he is absolutely useless. Which severely underrates him.

    Totally.
He's an excellent player and his passing is top notch. Definitley has the potential to be something big.

Not one person in this entire thread has even intimated that never mind said it.

It is the general consensus he has good technique and good passing. His detractors, myself included, have much bigger concerns about him than that.

I don't really see what your problem is here. Players that are not doing the business are always going to come in for criticism. That's the way it always has been and the way it probably always will be. As long as he's not being given a hard time during a match and the abuse isn't of a personal nature - eg. 'Ki's a useless, slanty eyed *' - then he is fair game because he's playing poorly.

Ki has played around 100 games for Celtic, I'll stick my neck out and say he's had a good game in less than 50 of those appearances. That means that over half the time he is in the team he's not pulling his weight. Any player in that position is going to be criticised and rightly so.

There's only one way out of this for Ki, do what Samaras did and get his finger out. If he does that then the criticism will all go away. It's really that simple.

Good passing, good shooting, can control a game when he's on form.

Start of the season he was one of our best players, he's off form now but he'll be back up at his level soon.

I don't think Ki has ever had an extended run when he has played well. He has had good games here and there but nothing more than that.
