would be great with a free role in a 5 man midfield, i can see this being a tactic in europe.

I love the fact we have so much competition for places in the team, especially in the midfield area. As someone already said, the first half was fairly scrappy yesterday and you could tell that the players were taking their time in adjusting to the style of SPL football again after two months off, but we came out in the second half and dominated Hibs, to the point where we could have had 5 or 6 in the back of the net by the end of the match.

Ki was outstanding yesterday, definitely man of the match. Long may it continue :shamrock:

    Thats the problem :56:

Thats how tight it is for midfield, Kayal and Ledley are just too good at dominating games to drop Ledley for Ki, I cant put my finger on it why though.

Ki imo will be the best player out our whole squad, I think in 2/3 years he could play for any team as technically he's utterly magnificent possibly the best passer of a ball ive seen don the Hoops.

I thought he was pretty good last season aswell, he had a spell of poor form after he came back from that Asian Cup thing, but he was good early on in the season when Kayal and Brown were injured and he also played well towards the end of last season.

Yesterday was the reason why I get so frustrated with him, why doesn't he grab every game by the scruff of the neck like that? He clearly has the ability yet sometimes just potters through a game being neat but providing no penetration whatsoever.

He was excellent though, especially in the second half when his tail was up.

He's shut a helluva lot of people up after that performance yesterday, I was one of the few that stood by him when he was getting stick for no real reason last season. Hope he gets regular games this season and shows what he can do with a run in the side.

You just summed up everything I was going to say.

I felt that my criticism of him last season was just......

I hope that my praise for him continues throughout the season.

Well done Dave - keep it up:50:

Always felt Ki was underrated. He improved steadily last season and has yet to reach his peak. By the end of this season I think he will be the one player we will not want to lose.

Thats not true, he was inconsistent when he came back from Asian Cup. He wasnt getting unwarranted stick, but based on last season he was never going to break up the Kayal/ Ledley partnership and that was proven with Lennons team selection.

His challenge now will be to produce yesterdays form on a weekly basis.

think that the competition from ledley in particular couldve been whats forced ki to become more clinical and ruthless with his passing.

Too many people did not take into account that last season was Ki first full season in Europe. Also he had very little rest with the WC and Asian championship.

Thats something that Ki has to deal with and a problem with players from Asia. Personally I dont give a * about Korea, or how he does with them. My allegiance is to Celtic. So I wont take his international football into account.

He has set his standard yesterday and needs to keep it up.

Our strongest midfield has ki in it, he,s better than brown and he,s got the best shot from outside the box than any other player in the team, he should hit every free kick imo because he,s ten times better than stokes and commons at hitting them and never gets a look in, frustrates the life out of me.

Brown should be no were near the team imo, ki needs to stay in and a would stick with forrest on the right as well

ki and kayal are our strongest centre mids by a fair distance

Stop being so 'in your face' please.

People were condemned for criticising Ki last year (certain people too quick to cry 'scapegoat') when there was a number of us who were actually clear enough in the head to see his faults.

He has shut no-one up because the majority of the people who gave him criticism (myself included), are now praising him on what was a decent end to the season, and a fantastic start to this (after he upped his game even more in the second half).

don't be so quick to cream your pants over one performance so far....let the boy get on with what he is doing, hope he shows plenty of commitment and hope for a good season from him - without resorting to petty 'I told you so' comments that are yet to be warranted.

    Exaggeration?

He is the best passer I have ever seen play for Celtic... I'm only 17, he is without doubt the best passer I have ever seen in the hoops.

The Xavi thing was a joke if that's what your talking about.
