Would like to see the wee man paired with Joe and Victor in the middle if Brown's definitely out.

Hopefully we'll see him return to full fitness soon. I'm still a little baffled by folks who say he's our best player. I love Kayal, but he's definitely not our best player, in my opinion. It's just bizarre that some of the folks that have criticized Broony for his perceived lack of passing ability and his lack of goals would praise Kayal so highly. Boggles.

Watch the a rerun of his first couple of Old Old Firm games when he was fully fit. He just dominated that midfield.

Is he our best player? Am not sure who is tbh there a few good candidates including Kayal.

I don't want this to turn into a bash Kayal thread. I really love him. I just disagree.

The things I love about him is ability to fight for possession and almost always win, his willingness to put in the hard tackle, and his vision and awareness. Can't wait to see how he performs!

No, I agree with you. He's tremendous on his day. Please don't misread me, I'm not bashing. Love the player. I just don't think he's our best player. Actually, when the whole team is fit, I'm not sure I can find space to start him. No knock on him, but the team is just that strong right now.

Absolutely. That's precisely what does set him head & shoulders above the likes of Brown.

Well, that and his dribbling ability. And vision. And the other stuff. :50:

I think Kayal on his day is contender for one of our best players. Probably between Hooper, Kayal or Wanyama for best player on their day.

He's been out so long I think a lot of people on here are forgetting just how good he is. On form, I personally think he is out best player. His performance in this video is simply world class:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg2Wo9nzBR8&feature=relmfu"]Kayal vs Hibernian(A) 10-11 - YouTube[/ame]

He has everything. Strength, balance, passing ability, willingness, positioning, ability to break down play, tackling, a decent long shot and the way he just glides around the park and past players is remarkable. Reminds me of Moussa Dembélé!

    One Beram Kayal! :50:

Think he got sucked in and gave Barca too much time to cross for Alba.

probably but not long on the park and had not really adjusted to the game ,plus barca had played the game on the deck all through 90 min until the chip to the back post , caught everyone out a bit.

Forrest definitely lost his man at the back post.

Nobody is to blame for that goal, leggy, tired, needing to concentrate, covering so many runners.

Forrest literally reacted half a second after Alba did, it was enough to punish him. You need to take in the full picture.

Maybe true, but the fact still remains Alba beat Forrest at the back post.

I agree. I just wouldn't blame him for it, he's done it to far better players and defenders than Jamesy Bhoy. We got sucked right into the box, we needed to be out 5 or 6 yards further and forcing them wide like we were doing most of the game.

It's a collective thing but yes, he got beat at the back post.

Totally agree. I'm not going to slaughter anyone because it was a fantastic performance, but Forrest definitely got caught ball watching and was unaware of Alba coming in behind him. Can't really blame it on tiredness as he was on a as a sub. Switched off.

I'm not blaming him solely on the defeat or anything as silly as that, but this should be a lesson to him that he needs to sharpen up on defensive duties as well as attacking.

Definitely, he needs to anticipate, not react. Kind of thing that will always happen to a player with his experience; against teams of this quality. I'm trying to put a positive spin on it because all in all, Jamesy should take a look at his performance last night and think "I had the best team in the world on the backfoot when I was running at them"

Anyway this is the Kayal thread, he injected some much needed energy when he came on but I don't think he really knew where he should have been playing. When he came on I think Ledley should have done the job Mulgrew was doing and Kayal do Ledleys.

Only quibble I have on Neils tactics last night, however if we lasted that extra 30 seconds I probably would have forgotten all about it.
