  1. Jason Denayer has been linked with a return to Celtic, but Galatasaray and Leeds United are also monitoring the defender’s situation.

The 23-year-old - who still has two years left on his Manchester City contract - spent last season on loan at the Turkish giants and helped them to the Super Lig title, after winning the Turkish Cup with them in a previous loan spell.

Reports in the country’s media suggest Galatasaray could look to bring the eight-cap international back to the Türk Telekom Stadı on a permanent basis for a reported £9 million, while Leeds are also keen on the defender and could look to do business with City again after taking Jack Harrison on loan. Celtic have also made contact, according to Takvim.

However, Celtic are still in the market for a centre back with Denayer linked with a return north of the Border. He won the PFA Young Player of the Year award during his loan stint at the Hoops in the 2014/15 season, and forged a good partnership with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Hoops defence.

  2. We've no chance. Plus, what would happen to the boyata song?

  3. We went and signed Denayer but it doesnt matter cause we sold Boyata

  4. He does not want to be here, so i would rather we looked at other targets.

  5. more regurgitated pish from agents flogging their players all over Europe the moment I read its African or Turkish media it just shouts out PISH!

  6. If the turks wanted him they would have bought him by now sane as we did with edouard

  8. Can’t see it happening but would be delighted.

Ajer and Denayer at the back would be great.

  9. It's a bit strange things seem to have gone backwards for him, but one of the advantages we have over the other clubs must be the progress of Boyata.

Going back a few years, I think we'd all have expected Denayer to be the one push into the Belgium team. But instead it's Boyata that made it to a world cup.

  10. Would take him in a * nanosecond.

    Don’t see it but.

Don’t think the guy has any intention of returning to Glasgow.

  11. Brendan is the right manager to get his career back on track, instantly our best defender then Boyata.

    Yes from me

  12. I was sure I saw somewhere that he wasnt interested in coming back to Celtic because it wasnt competitive enough for him or something along those lines. Dont see this happening at all.

  13. It was more he said he liked Turkey better as it was a tougher League and Scottish football was too easy for him, which it was really. I think the season he was here we only conceded 17 goals in the League which was the least conceded in like 100 years. Because he was so fast and good on the ball as well he was essentially playing centre-back, midfield and wing for us all at once that season as nobody was troubling us as he could skin who he wanted when he wanted.

  15. Like him a lot but even in todays inflated market he isn't worth 9 million to us so if that is the fee then it's a no from me.

  16. Would be perfect to the right of the back 3..

    Won't happen but..

  17. Would love to bring him in. Obviously something to it, as Rodgers mentioned an interest in him last year. Think he'd do great.

  18. Can't see it happening tbh, he's just what we need but I think he'd want to play elsewhere unfortunately.

  19. Would take him back obviously, but I'm not sure he woudl actually want to, and doubt we'd be willing to pay 9m unless Boyata was to leave for a decent fee while his stock is high from the world cup.
