Any fellow vexiollogists?

I've always found flags interesting to learn about. What are your favourite flags?

Not my favourite, but below is the flag of Alaska, which some of you may find strikingly similar to another flag.

 

That flag was designed by a 13 year old as part of a state wide flag design contest.

 

And there was me thinking this was the starry plough.

Isle of Skye

 

Wow, that Isle of Skye flag is beautiful. It has to be the most Celtic (hard C) flag I've ever seen, in a way that's quite hard to describe.

 

Really don't like the flag of the Ivory Coast,just don't think the colours go well together.My favourite flag is probably the Irish tricolour.

 

Fun with flags.

That might work as a podcast or something.

 

Maryland, quite an interesting one I think.



Arizona.

US States have either propper awesome flags and really shittuns such as below

Looks very Norse to me

 

Besides the similarities to the Swedish flag, I think it's the resemblance to a Celtic Cross which makes it look Celtic.

I like flags that are born out of the land they represent, quite literally being visual representations of the nation.

The wheat fields & blue sky of Ukraine.


The blue sky, black forests, and snowed ground of Estonia

Like the flag of Aboriginal Australia.
The red represents the red earth, the black for the first nations of Australia, and the sun, self-explanatory.

 

Very nice contrast with the colours, the sun is hypnotic.

The Nepal flag is the only national one in the world that is not rectangular

 

I don't know if this is true Northener, but over 90% of all flags have the colours blue or red in them?
