    Appears he can play anywhere on the left side and has bags of pace. Could be ideal for the LWB role.

    Charlton fans seems to really rate him.

    CELTIC have stepped up their interest in Charlton midfield starlet Alfie Doughty.

    The 20-year-old, who had a starring role in his side’s 3-1 win over Swindon yesterday, is a surprise £750,000 target for the Hoops.


    The Addicks have already turned down a bid from Luton for Doughty but now the Scottish champions are preparing to make their move.

    Celtic want to strengthen their squad for the ten-in-a-row title race in the Premiership and are looking for a new magician to open the door for their forwards.





    Doughty has been on their radar for months and he will be heading for Glasgow if the price is right.


    Neil Lennon has already brought in the likes of Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti, David Turnbull and Shane Duffy this summer as he continues to add to his ranks.

    The Hoops boss has also made an ambitious move to snap up PSG left-back Mitchel Bakker.



    Lennon wants to take the 20-year-old Dutchman on loan for the season.

    But Parkhead chiefs have been unable to agree a deal with the French champions.


    The move is not dead, because PSG are open to the idea of farming Bakker out for the season.





    But Celtic will need to go back in with an improved offer for the defender, who came through the youth academy at Ajax before moving to Paris last year.

    Lennon is on the lookout for a left-back following Boli Bolingoli’s fall from grace last month when he broke Covid restrictions by heading to Spain for an overnight stay and not going into quarantine on his return.

    Looks really quick from the couple of bit's I've seen from him..

    Scored a few in the championship last season..

    If he can play wing back then it back's up what supposed itk poster's elsewhere have been saying about us wanting 2 in on the left hand side..

    Bakker (hopefully) for example and then a versatile type like Doughty..

    He's perfect for LWB, really direct like a James Forest (When he's not being *) in terms of he beats people with raw pace doesn't really do 50 step overs or tricks just knocks it past em and gets it in mixer, energetic type works hard and got a decent cross. He'd need to bulk up though a fair bit for me and needs work on the defensive side of things. Be a good signing though. Ovbs lacks experience at 20.

    Supposed itk's on KDS can't mind if it was from the huddleboard first but saying we were in for 2 before the Boli incident..

    I can believe it as we let Hayes go and Boli was already out of the picture..

    I personally don't think Lenny rates Taylor that much either..

    Looks like he's very versatile, played LB, LM and RM last season, albeit he mostly played as a LM/LB.

    Could be perfect for us as a LWB.
