Oasis v Stone Roses

Stone Roses were the better band.

 

No hesitation, the Roses. Oasis had two good albums, three at a stretch then plummeted into the depths of average..dom. Roses are legends!

More albums doesn't necessarily mean better albums. Definitely Maybe and What's the Story are up there with 'The Stone Roses' but you can bow out gracefully or carry on digging a deeper hole and bringing out albums each worse than the last, Oasis chose the latter.

 

I like both but find that I like more Oasis songs than Stone Roses songs.
My choice might have something to do with the fact that I've liked Oasis since they were released as my big brother always had them on. He never listened to Stone Roses.

 

can only really say oasis due to longevity and they are still writing some quality tuneage, do u think stone roses would still be writing classics??? if u listen to ian browns solo stuff apart from fear i think u have ur answer

 

Tough choice. I'd say I prefer the Roses over Oasis but its a close call, both are legendary for me. Gotta love 'love spreads' on guitar hero, class.

I will always choose the Roses, don't get me wrong Oasis changed my life and some of their songs i will never tire of hearing, but The Stone Roses music was absolutely perfect. I believe it's about quality not quantity, like you say Mizuno, and since i discovered the Roses i've always thought there was something different to their music than any other band i've ever heard.

 

Oasis, but only because i grew up listening to them and have probably heard like 4 Rolling Stones songs, so my vote shouldn't really count.

Not a huge fan of either. But I detest Oasis and The Stone Roses have made a couple of classics. So Stone Roses for me.

 

Has to be The Stone Roses for me She Bangs the Drum and Love Spreads 2 of my favourite songs of all time :icon_mrgreen:

 

I was thinking about this to myself on the way to school this morning funnily enough

I concluded that although Oasis have much more material/songs etc the roses were the original and the original is best. Its definitely a case of the roses having little but of quality and oasis having loads but of lesser quality

Plus gallacher is a * who is trying to be ian brown

 

The Roses were good. So them for me.

Oooops voted for oasis It has to be The Stone Roses without question .A far superior band in every aspect

 

both awesome bands but it has to be the roses for me just down to the fact they were first and noel even says they a huge influence of oasis

 

Oasis for me just always been a fan of them.

 

Both brought out excellent debut albums before getting caught up in coke-snorting and producing bloated * albums. I'll have to go with the Stone Roses as they made Where Angels Play, one of the best songs I've heard.
