I feel as a club we should do better but our level of spending says it all. You get what you pay for.

We failed to keep the ball. As soon as caca picked up the ball I seen it coming, Like the other Kaka goal and Rooney at old trafford we gave him several seconds to take aim and never closed down. We never get that time or space from open play = not winning games

The Aalborg manager said it was 50/50 on sky sports, wis it * we were dominating for at least 90% of that match. Some of the boo boys on this forum must have been watching a different game from most of us, because you are by far a minority.

People saying they want Gordon Strachan out the door... why? If you could actually answer that with a reasonable answer then maybe you would stop being abused so much when you start stupid threads about wanting him out the door. The guy is the best manager since Jock Stein. He has took us to the last 16 twice in the last 2 years, this season just wasnt his year to get through. But hes well in line for a domestic treble which i will be over the moon if we win, along with many other Celtic fans who have the right to call themselves true fans as we do not get on the teams back when a result doesn't go in our favour.

Sure we should have won that game by 3 or 4 clear goals, but thats football anything can happen. It's up to us to keep our heads held high and "walk on through the storm."

Finally, HERE WE GO FOR FOUR IN A ROW.

And a cup double to boot.

    Hail hail.

Honestly I thought we where pretty awful last night and can play much better than we did , Aalborg are not a good team at all but our inability to hold on to the ball once again cost us big time alot of peoples opinion is that Caldwell was great last night I don't think he was gave the ball away more times than I can remember, why was he not playing centre half as he is our best centre half at the club and last night it showed some players got pass marks Skippy , Naka and Hinkel for me.

In reality we are no better than Aalborg as the two games have proved and will not progress in Europe untill we show a bit more belief in ourselfs and spend more money in the summer which aint going to happen unless we sell somebody. The spl is our bread and butter and where we are at our best. But in Europe we have been punching above our weight for a while and that's where the manager deserves credit has he done as much in europe as he can ? probably yes and no other manager can change that unless given money to spend.

No-one was at fault for the first goal, that caca dived whenever a player got near him so they backed off in fear of giving away a freekick around the box. It was unlucky that it took a deflection and went over Boruc.

I do blame WGS for the subs, bringing Maloney on in the 88th minute is unforgivable. * my mum could see that Nakamura was tired after 60 minutes! That Aalborg team are a bottom 6 spl side at best. Hopefully we can bounce back and secure a 4th title and shut the gers fans up.

Yes lets hold it against Gordon Strachan, lets give him no credit at all because FOOTBALL IN THIS COUNTRY IS *. Everyone else in this country for the past 4 years have been * apart from us who have been just slightly better than *. Yes we were so * (but not * enough to lose the SPL), yes we were so * in the last few years we beat such thoroughfair as Manchester United, the has-beens AC Milan, etc etc you get my drift.

How about you accept that we have been been outstanding in the SPL and Europe, save for our away record.

You obviously dont read the accounts. The club has been in debt for years and even the annual prophits are modest - like 4 million etc. We have a lot of money but even the players we have have big enough wages to gobble most of it up. Seriously, read the accounts and you will realise we will not be buying players on 40,000 a week ever again. That means no established peak-age household international names will be signed ever again. People need to realise that the big spend in MON's first season and the big wages these players commanded put the club in debt for years. Its going to be about youth and signing the best local players. Big deal. 90% of our history we brought through our youths, signed the best SPL players and a maybe a few foreigners. Its always been that way.

I meant the CL/ old European Cup. That was very exciting but the bottom line is our and the blue noses runs in the UEFA were against the 2nd tier of quality.

    :50: Great Post.

If anything the Martin O'Neill / Barnes spending has distorted a lot of peoples expectations on what we are able to spend.

Last night there seemed to be some unfit and tired players on that pitch, and substitutes should have been made earlier.
They seemed content to play to Aalborgs strength and not able to raise their game to capitalize on the goal. Also the luck you need was missing, 2 goals from in offs although the first one should have been shut down quicker.
Shame because the lads did play a good game but without the luck.

I wonder if Fat Eddie Murphy will change his statement, now that they will be playing Celtic on a level basis for the rest of the season.

    We'll be back.

samaras wasnt fit but he was better than last weekend when every ball just came back of him. His touch improved a bit between the games and we will benefit from another 90 under his belt. We just have to keep playing him for a couple more games till he is fully match fit. People seem to forget that Sammy was sensational this season until his injury.

    * up @ hibs, bottom of the EPL and current manager of European thorough-breds Falkirk.

I can see how you think they're more qualified than Strachan :56:
