That's exactly the point. Strachan's tactics were defensive. We defended (as we were against the best in Europe) and we got a good result. However, they had at least 3 clean sights of goal which they should have taken. Strachan's tactics were right because we are a limited team facing the Champions of Europe.

Out of context however, it was one superior team constantly attacking a team who defended very well.

Look at the stats. Souness' comments were correct.

clagan whats happning?if giggs didnt follow up on ronaldo`s shot they would not have even have scored,and i know they had better chances than us ....did they score from them eh no .this is about results not how much possesion you have,try give your team a pat on the back for the way they defended.
i wished we could put 100 odd million on the bench,money like that to get players makes a difference we done great not to loose the game .i dont give a * about stats we got a draw we got our respect back.....and thats with players out.

 

the point i'm making is though why are people saying we defended well when united had plenty of chances to win the match? we didn't defend well but luckily they didn't finish well.

it was a great result against a team that are light years ahead of us but we were lucky
