Ideal Scotland line up?

Discussion in 'World Football' started by Callum McGregor, Oct 28, 2008.

  1. What is the best team, in your opinion, that Scotland can put out given the players Burley has at his disposal?

  2. I guess:

    Gordon

    Hutton Caldwell McManus Naysmith (*)
    Brown Fletcher Ferguson Maloney
    McFadden Fletcher/Miller

Garry O'connor will be due a call up soon I think.

  3. Gordon

    Hutton Caldwell McManus Wilson

THe Young Boy (Or Miller) Brown Robson ( Or Fletcher) Maloney

    Fletcher McFadden (or Riordan)

  4. Gordon

    Hutton..Caldwell..McManus..Robson

    Brown..Ferguson..Fletcher..Maloney

    McFadden..Riordan

    .........................Gordon

    Hutton........Caldwell......McManus....Naysmith

    .........................Ferguson

    ................Brown...............Fletcher

    .........................McFadden

    ..................Miller...........Iwelumo/Fletcher

    Away to Holland

Same side but different shape with Hartley coming in for one of the strikers.

  14. you'd give iwelumo a game after that miss? ^ i'd agree with your back 4 and mf but i'd pick maloney, miller and mc fadden up front

  15. I think apart from the miss he looked really good and made a big difference when he came on. He's also banging in the goals for Wolves. Maloney would be a great sub and would be next in line if we had any call offs.

The 1st 11 look really good on paper and if you look at the bench with all fit, we're in fairly good shape. It's hard to believe how much we've struggled so far in the campaign.

    Here's the bench options.

McGregor, Marshall, Weir, Berra, Broadfoot, McNaughton, Robson, Hartley, Thomson, Maloney, Fletcher, Morrison, Burke, Commins, Naismith

  16. i dont think scotland have done too badly tbh. if it wasn't for that miss you'd be in a decent position but i suppose those are the games you really need to be winning to qualify

  17. the no hun line up would be your best bet.

  18. I can't agree because Macedonia are a poor side as are Iceland and if we're going to be honest Scotland haven't played well at all. When you think of the European experience our players have compared with the other sides excluding the Dutch, 2nd place should be a formality but we've made heavy weather of it so far.

Norway did not deserve to lose the last game either. If Iwelumo scored we'd have stolen the points.
