With this board, any transfer window is wasted, regardless of the manager. I hope the fans can be motivated by the GB and Celtic Trust to seriously complicate matters for the board, and cause them to run away by the end of the season.

This makes sense. I want this to happen.

Personally think we can kiss the league goodbye if we chuck someone in before January. Definitely changed my stance given the state of the squad.

It'd also put the new manager immediate pressure. * having your first two games as st mirren and Hibs away. Then Hearts which is huge even at this stage. In the past? Aye. Fine. But with this squad and if it were to be Nancy...no sure.

At this point I think we need to look past the January window. This appointment is really important and it's coming at an extremely awkward time.

If we were a competently run football club it wouldn't matter about the window as we'd be signing players who suit the managers style, e.g. fast, athletic and high potential players who suit a modern formation that most managers will play. That's what other clubs do and even appoint similar managers.

If Nancy has already been tapped and he has identified all the players he wants to take with him he will be ready to go asap and all the players brought in january. Any other scenario, might be the wrong timing. Board are seriously winging it this season

To think folk scoffed at my Steve Clarke suggestion, not having for a single second that Nancy would be a better appointment over Clarke, managing in front of 50K passionate tartan army fans over the last 6 years is far more pressure in comparison to managing in the US where there is no promotion or relegation jeopardy, Ronny Deila won an MLS cup too so I'm not going to recognize that as some incredible achievement just because Nancy did it, getting Scotland to major tournaments with no strikers and Angus Gunn as your GK is far more impressive

Why do we use Ronny Deila as a stick to beat the MLS with?

He had some good times here and has had success before and after his spell here. He's not an awful manager.

Him winning the MLS cup was a good achievement, just like it was for Nancy.

A bit early for this, but on recent events, shambolic is organised as these * get who run our club.

Either way, we need to know something by the end of the International break. Seems split over the getting someone in to plan longer term, opposed for the MON for the short term (which i dont think he wants to do all that longer).

I think giving it to MON and Maloney is effectively the board checking out this season and what will be will be.

I won’t go as far as saying we’re writing off the league, but we’re not giving ourselves the best chance.

MON clearly had no clue who the players were when he took over. Maloney is there to help him.

I’m sure a new manager coming in would have that same support if needed to familiarise himself with the squad.

I honestly think it’s all fairly simple. Is MON the best manager we can get for this season? The obvious answer is no. He’s done well to get a short term bounce but he’s not managed a club team for years and is now a pundit in his 70s.

We really don’t need a miracle worker to win this league.

It’s all down to who we appoint, I get that. But just accepting MON when we’re what, a third through the season? I honestly can’t wrap my head around it.

I don't see a scenario where MON get's the remainder of the season tbh, it would be an admission of abject failure by the Board amounting to gross negligence.

Canny get carried away with sentiment here, also it would be unfair on Martin himself, this is a very demanding job, might be ok for the very short term, but the bottom line is we need a permanent manager.

Maribor and Malmo are permanent scars from his time here, had Van Dijk for both and still * out

Regardless, getting Scotland to major tournaments is more impressive than any trophies won in the US
