Never put a foot wrong apart from against Butland’s chrome dome.

A bit lucky for me not to see red. But he was excellent all game outside of that

 

Big performance from the big man. Very humble in his words afterwards. Again, another player with a solid platform to kick on from. Love to see it.

 

Really good today. 2 things I love about how he play:

• Stepping out to win the ball
• The way works so hard to get into space to receive a pass - he literally sprints to find space

 

Said it in the match thread, he’s a leader and could be our captain. Massive at the back for us and I think actually looks more comfortable on the ball playing the right hand side.

 

Massive game. Deserved MOTM. His aggression early on set the tone and it looked like he was playing with a point to prove. Needs to sustain it now.

What was he thinking for that corner though? So stupid.

Should have been off I think but besides that second of madess he looked solid

Every time he had the ball at feet he was moving forward and if he couldnt pass short he would go long to good effect. Much better than watching the side and back stuff we became used to seeing.
