We're caught between a battle of egos.

Neither "sides" are putting the club first.

 

Aye, agreed. They've obviously felt for some time that they needed to get their side of the story out.

 

That's not the point though.

Desmond is claiming and painting it (the club always does) that every signing is approved by the manager as if the manager fully endorses and wants the players.

Inamura and the comments Rodgers made about him when he signed (also throw in the Shved nonsense) shows that the signing of inamura was not one Rodgers wanted.

He may be a decent player and Rodgers may be stubborn and flawed in not playing him, but the statements from Rodgers clearly shows inamura wasn't a player he wanted.

Shows how much Desmond is * himself going so hard and fast on the defensive. Never seen a statement like that before.

As inevitable as it was, it's still surprised me they've actually done it. Just madness.

I think you might be right there. The board are * and their relationship with Brendan was finished but, instead of resigning, he stayed on and dug his heels in, trying to highlight the board’s mismanagement by not playing some of the new signings and by certain comments he’s made to the press. He may have been working his ticket, or he may have hoped that he’d be kept on and would win the league in spite of the *, but that was always going to be unlikely given the recent performances, the state of the squad, and the expectation to sign players in January. They were on a collision coarse and they ran Rodgers off the road, albeit that maybe he’s not 100% blameless in this either.

 

Everything in the statement had to be said about Rodgers it’s just a shame it’s had to come from another guilty party in this mess

I like the idea of someone like Marco Rose, but I just don’t see how he looks at this squad and thinks it is in any way equipped for Europe, which would certainly be a big factor in him coming here. There’s basically zero physicality in the team.

 

The * cheek of them to throw MON into this mess by the way.

 

Makes no sense to it being a resignation then! Wonder why he's gone...not that I'm sad about it

Rodgers sure knows how to make a controversial exit ffs. This one might even top the last one

 

Or playing dane Murray at tynecastle with a 6 mil centre half on the bench, playing hatate every game even though he checked out in the summer, a centre half from man city playing for the b team. His team selections have been brutal at times.

 

That's a shambles if true, he's been a constant for the squad.
