I'm sure that's true, but I'm also certain that everyone knows that isn't conclusive of anything and it will have been a risk based judgement taking many factors into deciding it, including what the player said and how important the manager thought it was that he was available.

It's a complex decision and we got it wrong, obvious, easy to see risks were taken by those involved. Do people really think what happened wasn't related to Johnston returning from injury too soon?

It's really worrying that AJ did his hamstring on his first game back from doing his hamstring, that kind of injury has ruined careers so our medical department needs to really careful in managing AJ's return next time NO MATTER WHAT Brendan or the team needs, worrying, as I said.

 

I get what your saying but think about how long his body has had to play with pretty much no break because of all his duties with Canada. I don't think what happened Thursday night suggests something dangerous to his career at all just more a case of when it rains it pours.

Asked about Johnston, O’Neill said: “Yeah, I’ve met him a couple of times. He’s a lively lad, isn’t he! Really lively. Really nice fella.

“I kind of got to know him before, because when he was at Nashville, he was being coached by Stevie Guppy. So we’ve had a little chat about Stevie, and that was nice.

That would be great much earlier then I expected if that time line works out.

 

Would like to see him play under MON, I'm one of BR's biggest fans but I think the additional freedom AJ would have in a MON side would be fantastic for him. Hopefully we get to see it happen before the permanent manager is in.
