So there was no way to bring him on? Tounekti maybe on the right and switch things up? There's no excuse to pay that amount on an attacker and not feature him in a game like that.

This can't play down the right wing stuff is a cop-out. A good winger can make some form of impact down either side. It's just something used to defend him for not showing much. He got a came on the left at the weekend and looked the exact same.

 

Two forwards bought, and one can't get on, and the other is not even in the squad. Three if you count Kenny re-signing.

Im never one to jump on a players back, especially since he didnt even play tonight, but this does seem a strange signing in hindsight.

He's not a winger who traditionally beats his man clearly, yet thats what makes the difference for us. He doesn't have the same tenacity or pressing like Maeda does (or did considering his own recent form).

If hes going to make it here, it wont be as a winger, I think he'll either be moved on next summer or we'll see him in midfield at some point.

He was due to come on but when it came to dribbling around the cones in his warm up, he stopped and passed backwards instead.
