One of the most impotent Celtic sides i can remember..

We all know about the window and the board. This side has nothing about it..

There's no fluidity
No guile
No pace
No conviction
No patterns
No dig
No energy
No dynamism

Even in some dark days of my lifetime we still had a bit of swagger and top players/exciting players. There is nothing here..

We've just brought in a guy late on and it's basically get it to him at all costs and see if something happens..

We're wide open in midfield. Have barely any quality on the wings bar Tounekti here and there. No runners beyond. It's * poor to watch..

It's a team that's dead on it's * and won't change anytime soon..

It's as boring and * as I've ever witnessed. Sickening..

 

It's almost as if the manager moaning about a lack of quality all summer has affected the players confidence.

 

Feels like the Hampden season right now, when we struggled to break teams down and had a lot of draws.

 

It’s far and away the worst Celtic team I’ve ever seen.

Barnes had the likes of Moravcik and Viduka even when Larsson was injured.

Mowbray had Maloney and McGeady.

The Covid team would have been much better with an average manager let alone the one we had.

I’m just completely disillusioned with the club, to the extent that I couldn’t even comprehend attending a game like that tonight, and I’m bewildered as to why anyone would.

It really saddens me to say that, but it’s entirely accurate.

 

How many players can you say have been good this season?

Scales has been good overall, CCV alright, Donovan has done well when he has played and Tounekti has been a bright spark.

That's 4 players, 3 of which are defenders.

Our football is turgid and incredibly predictable. It's the most boring I can remember.

I keep saying its almost as bad as the covid season, but its getting to the point where it is as bad, its just being masked by a Rangers team thats somehow worse.

 

I am really looking forward to another international break once again.

 

I've literally just been saying this and about previous managers above pretty much word for word to my brother Frank..

In SPL this season Livingston (and 4 others) have scored more than us.
Let that one sink in.

Add our 1 goal in 4 games in Europe to the pot and we are indeed as impotent as any team in recent memory.

It started final quarter of last season too - it's not new.

The midfield simply must be overhauled, it all stems from them
Then you add a * forward line to mix plus a semi retired, demotivated manager, this is the outcome.

 

TURGID, the CelticStar site was saying recently we should use Europa to go on a Seville like run, writter obviously hadn't seen us playing this season.

 

Bang in trouble.
Opposition know , just let Scales have it, block the passing lanes and watch us pass it around at 5mph between GK , CB and Fullback .

Our only hope is the ball getting wide on a turnover and Tounekti doing something. One winger when we need 4. 1 alright striker when we should have 3 good ones.

Absolutely * all in the midfield. Arne Engels is money down the drain, that attempted ball over the top before their goal sums him up . Mcgregor done , Reo and Daizen want away form nosedived, while Bernardo looks like he's won a raffle.

 

The Covid Celtic beats this team about 3-0.

As bad as it was it knew how to score.

 

That but for me is so true, the squad wasn't awful, not by a long stretch at all, but as was made via confessions of Lennon himself during that season, he didn't do any real pre or post match analysis - a real overall lack of professionalism brought everything down.

Yet this squad is falling apart at the seams and that is where Rodgers has to come in for some flak because he cant be making statements about his wants and needs, him being the man to progress not maintain, wanting to play more urgency etc... and then preside over the same level of dross every week

 

Its what happens when you flog the family silver and replace it with stuff off Temu

 

We don't have one single natural striker that our elite manager is willing to play.

 

It's six teams have scored more than us in the league, Hibs, hearts, Kilmarnock , Dundee United, Motherwell AND Livingston.

The rebuild for next season should start now. Big question marks over Rodgers. Stale, turgud stubborn and devoid of any idea on how to change it currently. A new manager with fresh ideas and set up would galvanise the squad.

Our squad was stale last season. Now it lacks quality and is unbalanced, as well as being absolutely toothless.

MF, awful. Slow, 1 paced, zero creativity. RW, no further words needed there. Still playing Scales as no answer has been found in the LCB area despite going through 8 CB in the last few years.

KT is best as a back up currently. Schmeichels quality is disappearing as quickly as the daylight this autumn. Mistakes littered throughout the squad.

The whole things is one giant mess. And off the field is hoaching as well.

Honestly cant see us progressing out of the Europa and the league has another Covid season vibe to it.

Appreciate everything Scales does but he's a CB from the 1940s. No ball playing ability and can't go forward. Can make a block and an interception and to be fair he excels at that but that's him. And he's been our best player this season.

 

The warning signs are there..

We maybe need to persevere with that 3 at the back looked a bit better in that shape
