Him retiring would be massive.

The worry with the likes of Nicholson and McKay is they might just be replaced with other yes men, but someone like Lawell won't simply be replaced with another like him, he's a special kind of stooge that has held us back for years.

Heard from someone who works security that he's not been around and rumour amongst staff is he's away

Him and Nicholson both need to go and we need actual professionals with no connection. An actual interview process, you know, like companies normally do.

Might even end up with the most qualified person for the job. Outrageous approach.

 

Lawell has taken around £30m in wages over his time at Celtic. He's 67. He is no doubt good at what he does. But what he needed to do at the club should've ended a decade ago. Probably longer. Clearly doesn't need the money, love for the club would be doing what's best for it, and he's not done that. In fact, if rumours are true, he's going against it with his leaked scum story.

So its an easy win here for DD amidst the backlash towards the board. Long-term, what's best. A nearly 70 Lawell in charge, or an early 50s top manager, who is wanting to stay and backed by the fans.

Only rumours, but Lawell will retirement will be announced at the agm. So a nice easy win as his presence will no longer loom large.

Then the rearranging of the deck chairs will begin.

Shouldn't be allowed to simply just walk off with a thank you. He should be named as the source of the leak and sacked

 

If he is the source of that cowardly backstabbing for sure we should be told and he should be fired. What are we at now about 2 weeks since that and still nobody named and nobody fired. Disgraceful. Personally for me Lawwell is so far gone he needs to go regardless of whether he was the backstabbing coward or not although I am very much in the camp that it probably was Lawwell.

 

The main thing is that we get rid of him and bring in someone who can actually modernise the club.
