Were we also not meant to be building a 5k seater stadium as well?

It does look good. Makes our stadium and its facilities look all the *. Invest some money in that now.

Sure that was cancelled not long after they started building it.

Not sure about what the capacity was supposed to be but yes the original plans included us having a stand at Barrowfield. Its fair to say we have the money to have been able to build one and I have never seen a reason legitimate or otherwise given for the stand been cut from the Barrowfield redevelopment. Surely it would have made sense as it could have allowed us to host home games for the womans team on a decent pitch.

At the very least the main stand needs redeveloping.

It's a difficult time of year to improve facilities...

    Much did it cost?

Hope the first team get benefit from this investment.

Reality is kids of quality get poached for buttons down south and women’s football is laudable but not a revenue generator.

Great facility, looks amazing, hope there is a genuine return on investment from it. For now, to me, it looks like a nice to have tbh. And a * expensive one.

Good level training facilities are a must have. It helps players and also think that the quality of facilities will be important to some players if considering joining us.

    That’s lennoxtown.

This facility is intended for youth and women football.

Great stuff etc but in current day when the likes of doak are poached for pennies I do wonder re the return on investment reality.

That's what I don't get with this, has Rodgers not been saying for years that we need an indoor pitch and we build one but for the youth/women's team. I get the men's team can use it if they want but it's not ideal if everything is based at lennoxtown and you need to up sticks to Barrowfield at short notice if it's * down & then what, bounce the women's team off it, tell the young team to beat it. That'll go down like a lead balloon.

Was just going to say something similar, in Rodgers first spell he talked about an indoor pitch, why don't we have one? It wouldn't cost more than £3m I wouldn't think

I reckon this will be used by the first team, at least in the winter months. You could see Lennoxtown being used in the summer months then when the weather turns they move into Barrowfield.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Barrowfield became permanent at some point. Are the facilities outright better there now?

I can imagine the emphasis on Women and Youth right now is to get it through in terms of funding or whatever, and maybe to spare some blushes that they spent all that money on Lennoxtown and never made it good enough.

Lennoxtown is constantly evolving, KT said there's been a lot of changes since he left.

We have the indoor training facility.

But, I guess if the weather is really bad they have Barrowfield as an option for indoor work.

Lennoxtown is on a much bigger scale so can't see the 1st Team ever changing, on permanent basis to Barrowfield.

Its great to have two excellent facilities.

If you go back to when the work was about to start someone on here who was involved in the project stated lawell looked at plans and made cuts to it

I’m sure the first team can book out the dome if the weather gets bad

The great thing about it is the dome the other facilties I’d say are better at lennoxtown

The pitches haven’t changed much just theirs changing areas a manager media room gym and somewhere to eat … this was all having to be done at the stadium before this was built
