Late on yes. In june? Nah. Offer obviously wasnt enough. Then they wait until end August to offer again? Ofcourse we would say no unless it was a stupidly high offer. So imo if they truly wanted him, stump up the cash. We wouldn't turn down 25+

 

Did you read what Daizen himself said? He said he personally agreed terms with another club but Celtic blocked his move due to needing him. You're literally speculating about something that likely didn't happen.

 

Whys he agreeing with other clubs if we've not gave permission? Fact is we never accepted there small pitiful offer. He can agree with whoever he wants, but they need to stump it up.

 

We obviously gave him permission. Then changed our minds with the state of our business.

 

The problem is we don’t know and may never find out, time for a replacement may have been a factor, the BS spilling from various factions of the club have me questioning if or who is telling the truth.

 

I would sideline him until January, and then shunt him out the door to the highest bidder.
I don't trust him in one on ones anymore with a goalkeeper.

Three strikes and you are out is my motto. Maeda has had five.

Think its clear now from these comments Rodgers made a couple of weeks ago that hes dealing with a dressing room that contain a number of guys that are checking out

So is this why we signed 2 left wingers and why Rodgers wanted 2 strikers?

If we had signed Dolberg, another striker and got the right winger from palace on loan do we think he would have left on Monday?

Aye, not even an exaggeration. The danish Adam idah. He’d have made absolutely no difference to our squad as would not suit our style of play at all.

that’s not why the board never paid the money for him mind haha! We seem to scout the low fee players really well but high fee signings don’t always seem to fit our squad that well

 

Feel for Maeda. Definitely deserved his move in the summer when his stock was high.

Need to let him get his move in January and have his replacement scouted and ready to bring in.

The rumour was about a week before the first Kairat game we received a bid from Brentford that would have been acceptable for us to sell him but we asked Maeda and Brentford to let us keep him until after the qualifiers as we didn’t have a replacement.

Maeda wanted to go then not to jeopardise the move but we apparently gave him our word he could go after the qualifiers.

We expected to sign someone and Balikwisha in time for the Kairat games so he could leave just after but the Balikwisha deal took longer and the other deal fell through. It was the one or two Rodgers hinted at around the Falkirk game.

We were also meant to sign Breum and Nazinho before we went to Como but we low balled both teams. Again Rodgers alluded to having one or two in for the Como Cup, I think it was after the Sporting Lisbon or Newcastle games.

It’s mad to think that despite those teams being undercooked, Rodgers actually had the half baked squad we had firing around those games and despite taking a tanking in the second half against Ajax, we should have been out of sight in that game by half time.

I am sure everyone by now has also heard the Dolberg story about having an agreement at £8.5m with Anderlecht, then only when it came to submitting the formal offer going in at half that and stalling the move. We were confident of having him in for Ibrox that low ball offer stalled the move and ultimately led to us missing out.

The club hasn't covered itself in glory at all as of late, but considering we lost Kyogo, Kuhn, and Idah last year, whose goals totalled 81 in total (I think?) - losing Maeda would have pushed us, the manager, and the team to beyond the limit.

He expressed his wishes last year to be our main striker to help his chances of playing that position for Japan, so I think this is their idea of meeting him half way. We didn't have the personnel to allow the move to happen at the time, which needs to be addressed if the club wants to actually be agile and aggressive in the transfer market.
