Not only that he'll likely get a massive bonus of the back of his too.

    Balance sheet before team sheet

It will be the same rehashed apology Liewell said 11 years ago.. for the same stuff that he then proceeded to continue doing all these years later.

If it is the same old pish, needs sacking on the spot. You can’t come out with the same old excuses because that implies that we’ve made the same mistakes and we’ve learned nothing from them. If I was this incompetent at my job I’d be sacked.

I get what you are saying, but the excuse of being on your own doesn’t cut it when he’s been dicking around the Go Ahead Eagles equivalent earlier in the window with lowball offers.

If he is light on for time then quit dicking about and drop an offer when there is time on the clock to get players in, rather than wasting time while trying to save buttons. There really isn’t an excuse.

Yeah I think the lowballing is just borne of a club-wide mindset of seeking value above all else. It's a deliberate strategy rather than incompetence for me, and one that would need a proper reevaluation in order to change it.

Sit down and make a decision to put more of an emphasis on speed and efficiency, and not as much on seeking value would be a start. Also bring in more staff so we don't have one guy spread across 6 different potential deals in the last hours of the window.

Britain is filled with such people. They normally get a bonus for it.

The thing is, with the money we've brought in, we could have had a successful TW and a healthy balance-sheet all at the same time.

The only way he stays in the job for me is if he comes out and admits failings and that the club need to modernise their approach to transfers, including employing someone who becomes the footballing figurehead of the board, like a Sporting Director.

He needs to come out and say that the board will employ this person quickly, will ensure the approach to transfers changes at the next window and that significant money will be given to the director to carry out his job. The board will work alongside him but will not dictate what he can and cannot do. The board will set the budgets, it’s up to the footballing department how those budgets are spent.

I’ve no interest in hearing more empty words from these *. Could you honestly trust a word that they say anyway? Not that they will as they treat us with utter contempt. The failure we’ve seen over the summer is just one in a long list that the custodians of the club have overseen. Apologies and empty promises mean nothing now. They need to go.

Systemic changes needed, but we need different people making these decisions because the same people have been making these mistakes consistently for far too long.

Even getting in the likes of Tinsdale shows the lack of judgement of the current decision makers.

Would be a solution but it's not gonna happen.

I just can't see this board bowing to fan pressure. It would literally kill them to admit to us plebs that they have been doing it all wrong and that Sean from Coatbridge is totally right about us needing a DoF etc.

If they're gonna change it'll need to be on their terms not because the support is kicking up *. I hope I'm wrong.

If it’s true deals weren’t done because of missed emails and phone calls, especially to the extent that is rumoured, then he should be removed immediately. You can’t keep the position of CEO in those circumstances.

You don’t need to be involved with football or a CEO or whatever to know that.

I just think that the reality of trying to remove people like Nicholson, McKay and Lawwell is very unlikely to happen, given they're essentially voting their friends back into power. We know the power Desmond has with the other shareholders and it's unlikely that he's ever going to bow to fan pressure to remove someone from the board.

Lawwell stayed as CEO for 18 years and only left because he was 'retiring' and was likely promised the job as Chairman to get him to move on very early on.

I think a far more likely solution to appease both sides of this is that the board give up the control of the footballing operations to a team of experts and the board sets all the budgets. The club is ran well from a business perspective but the problem is the way it handles the footballing operations and that comes down to people making financial decisions on recruitment who have absolutely no idea about the market and the asset their bidding for.

The scarry part with the Maeda revelations now added in there is likely other stuff that we don't know about as well. The level of mismanagement and incompetence from Nicholson is of epic proportions. The fact he has not resigned already is an absolute disgrace. His position is completely untenable.
