Give the lad a break, 2 minutes in the door and thrown into the most boring game of the season so far, let him settle then we can see what he can do.

He's barely trained with his teammates, never mind played together. Will judge once he is settled.

He did seem eager to advance the ball today, he put a few into the box when he got in the advanced positions where Daizen would usually check back and play it to our left back or Hatate.

I think we all just dreamed of him coming in, jinking past his man and firing one into the bottom corner to sort all our problems out. In reality it was never likely to happen and our problems run a lot deeper than a new winger coming in.

I wasn't impressed regardless. I like wingers being able to take on their man and actually showing danger when they have the space and time on the ball to do so. I felt Balikwisha had those opportunities in the first-half but instead just decided to throw it a little aimlessly into the box. This is fine if your game is all about getting good crosses in and it's something that you're class at doing, but it was difficult to see what he was trying to do with his crosses. Whip it in for Maeda to rise above two big centre-backs?

But obviously there are mitigating factors. He's just in the door. Maybe he was a bit conservative and just wanted to make sure he was doing the basics right on such a massive occasion, which he did.

Another fortnight to get to know a lot of his team-mates before the Kilmarnock game so plenty of time for him to get settled at Lennoxtown etc.

I saw a comment from I think it was Agathe17 saying that it was a pretty claustrophobic game. I think that's a really good way to describe how Ibrox can feel. Especially when they're snapping at your heels and giving you little time on the ball.

Hopefully we see a performance with a bit more flair at Rugby Park.

Agreed, and that’s only fair, but he made few, if any, attempts to beat his man in the outside, which is worrying. It just looked like something he didn’t believe he could do tbh.

Think he's just playing it safe game 1. Playing in a we shell. Give him another game after a few weeks at training and he'll look great.

First game at ibrokes, a real baptism of fire for any player, it was a poor performance today and the scatter gun is oot.

They were doubling up on Balikwisha, they obviously feared him. And Yamada didn't have rattle that Hun defence of theirs.

So some good points came out of this for us, of what was a very drab game.

I’m trying not to judge much on that.

But the one thing that I am and it’s sticking out in my head is yesterday was pretty much the closest thing to a free hit that he’d get these games.

And he played it as safe as he possibly could, not once attempting to beat a man and he had the opportunity to go for it 4/5 times. In my mind it should be an opportunity to be bold, try it, a chance to * start with a bang. And if it doesn’t work? Just off the plane really, probably only briefly was on a training pitch.

He went the opposite and opted for playing it very safe instead. And I don’t like that being the option taken up by a winger.

Nothing else to go on for it, and nothing play wise settled for me. But mentality wise instead that.

I reckon he either scores.or squares it for a tap in to Daizen if it wasn't given as a foul for that Tavpen dive

Jesus christ give the guy a chance :56: He got on in a woeful performing Celtic side away at the bigotdome, having about 1 training session together with the team. He will come good.

Still, not once did he take on his man, who we all know is there for the taking, seemed just happy to receive the ball and pass it backwards-a typical BR signing
