Kieran Tierney

  1. Why is it taking him so long to get up to speed?

  2. Even the buzz of KT coming back has quickly faded.

Everyone knew it was a gamble but clearly he’s struggling to get match fit.

    So frustrating.

  4. He really isn't and it's not unfair to say.

He's a better defender than Taylor, more aggressive, better crosser, stronger runner, all of those things.

Taylor is better at moving the ball quickly and playing on the inside, giving an extra option to play through the lines.

  5. He looks done, has offered nothing.

  6. Pal with an Arsenal season book thought he was finished. Even looked laboured in his brief cameos.

  7. To be fair to the players nobody looked good phyiscally, maybe that sea level height pish did make a difference, even 30 minutes in Maeda and Ralston and that everyone looked *.

Hardly anycunt ran the whole game, even Kairat looked to have ran out of steam about 70 minutes in.

Carter-Vickers looked on the verge of a heart-attack most of the game, played like he was up to his knees in mud.

Was a weirdly slow sluggish game.

  8. Think you find that with most games out that way. Everytime we've played in Russia or anywhere like that, everybody looks sluggish as anything. Same with international games when Scotland travel to these far away places. Pitches are always rotten, so probably causes heavy legs. Like running in work boots.

  9. Aye I don't want to make excuses for anyone but it did probably have an effect tonight. Altitude is notorious.

The damage was done last week, realistically

  10. The 2 Kairat games he’s been miles off it but domestically he’s been very good. Think it will take most of the first half of season to get his fitness near what it should be.

We can't afford to have players that can only play 60mins of a game. Kieran Tierney or not. He looks brutally slow.

And there's been zero improvement in mins as the games come in. Very worrying.

  11. It does take a long time to get really match fit though.

Mind the last time he had a run of playing football was December 2023-January 2024, thats the last time he played like 10 games in 2 month.

Back when Luis Palma was still playing for us it was that long ago.

  12. We certainly can't be moving scales to left back when he goes off...I haven't a clue what inamura has done but there's no way scales is a better left back

  13. He is nowhere near match fit but in terms of his actual play, genuine question, where’s his out ball up the line apart from a hit and hope because the cocker spaniel in front of him has no positional sense? Married with the fact Calmac was blowing out his hoop in the first 20 mins and wasn’t filling his usual positions infield.

There’s more to come from KT but he’s not going to be able to be the player we know he can be without better players in and around him. Including tonight.

  14. It’s not like we’ve had him signed since January and knew he wouldn’t be able to last more than an hour in our most important fixture of the season but failed to sign an adequate back up who could play instead.

  16. It's not just up the line though. He barely found a ball inside to Hatate all night. I don't disagree that the movement was poor, not only from Yang but basically the whole front 5, I'll give you that.

When he's fit he'll add a different dimension. But I do feel that we've not got to grips with not having Taylor inverted yet in terms of progressing the ball

  17. Was he injured in the summer?

Was just thinking how he only made his debut in that home Newcastle game which was about the 4th friendly.

  18. Man down tonight. Regardless of the reason shouldn't have been on the park.

  19. Not that I know of, but it’s just being overly cautious given he’s probably on a massive wage, one we can’t justify sitting in the stands. We must’ve known he wasn’t going to be fit enough to churn out 90 minutes twice a week at the start of the season so a proper back up should’ve been brought in alongside him.

Instead we’ve been forced to use scales there when he’s not even good enough to be playing week after week in his actual position.
