Meanwhile, Record Sport understands that Celtic are weighing up an offer for Cercle Brugge full back Flavio Naizinho.

The Hoops are short in the left back department following Greg Taylor's departure to join PAOK and the Portugal U21 star has been identified as a potential open to provide cover for Kieran Tierney following his sensational Parkhead return from Arsenal.

sounds like the kind of name a top player would have. That's a huge coup. I'll be dissimped about this if we dont get him in as I thought he'd already signed and on his way here.

 

I can see Tierney getting an injury or two this season unfortunately. Hopefully not though as he will be really important for us. If this does happen we need someone who is ready to shine and this guy looks like he could make a big impact.
It would be ideal for him to work with Tierney behind the scenes and learn from his experience, i'm sure he would see him as a good mentor as well. I'm excited about the potential of this one and I hope he signs. Last thing we want is to be clambering around for a left back and have to settle for uninspiring options.

 

Looks good, fits the profile of power and pace that Brendan seeks for the team. Strong, physical tackler, good positional sense, nice passer and capable of powerful surging runs up and down the flanks.

We have been crying out for a left back like this for years. Hope we get him.
