If we signed those two and a RW for £8m+ I'd be happy tbh.

With the idea that Jota could be back by January. Think that'd be great depth on paper. I'm not as fussed about spending AS big on the LW as Jota, when fit, would always be my no1 option. So getting 2 guys in, one who can also play right side, would be fine with me till say January and then re assess.

It's more the right side I'd like another in for 'bigger' money.

That'd be Kuhn and Yang out for close to £20m say and then 3 in for £15-18m.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha is close to a transition to Celtic. The Scottish top club has been in talks for quite some time and is now pushing through. Antwerp would like to finish quickly, also because Balikwisha has entered his last contract year. He doesn't extend, so this is the time to collect another hefty sum.

The flank attacker repackaged with goals and assists at the end of last season and did not go unnoticed at the European level. His profile – fast, technical, and deployable on both flanks – makes him an interesting reinforcement for Brendan Rodgers and co. Moreover, his departure leaves room for Antwerp's wage budget.

With the income of Balikwisha, Overmars finally gets margin to switch. Antwerp yearns for fresh blood, especially in Defence and attack. In the back, there is a lack of sufficient depth and experience, while in the front an extra striker is urgently needed to increase the competition with Janssen – if he stays.

With all the recent links, trying to see how this would work up top

    Jansson
    Balikwisha
    Jota

    Maeda
    Idah
    Osmund

    New RW
    Nygren
    Forrest

With Ambrosino playing across the front 3.

Im wondering if we aren't signing another RW and looking at Jansson and him covering both. Not convinced on that as both look predominantly left sided.

Interesting he can play on the right wing too.

I think Balikwisha can also play as a 10 as well he ended last season largely playing there.

It may be that Nygren and Balikwisha both play minutes as the main attacking midfielder and on opposite flanks.

I am not convinced we are getting Janssen but someone in that mould may come in that can play either wing. I don’t see us getting Balikwisha, Janssen and another, especially if we sign Ambrosino.

Osmand loaned out and Ambrosino is brought in as a flexible option across the front 3 too. When Jota is fit he is the other main winger. In the mean time Maeda will play games left wing and striker.

As mentioned elsewhere I think Hatate could still move on and we then sign a more box to box midfielder and have McGregor, Engels Bernardo and the new signing compete for the deeper midfield positions. McCowan would be another option at the 10.

Leaves us needing a starting centre back and left back backup to complete the squad.

    LW
    Balikwisha
    Maeda/Jota
    Ambrosino

    RW
    New signing
    Nygren
    Forrest

    AM
    Nygren
    Balikwisha
    McCowan

    ST
    Maeda
    Idah
    Ambrosino
    Osmand (if not on loan)

Yang, Tilio and Kenny all either sold or loaned out to go with Kuhn.

If we get rid of Yang, Palma and tilio I'd want 3 wingers in.

I'd say we need minimum 4 options to choose from at any time.

    Jansson
    Balikwisha
    Nygren
    New RW

Then Jota returns giving us 5, with flexibility in them all. Issue is Jota will miss a big part of this season. So the 4 is really required.

    I don't think we will get 3. But I reckon that's what's needed.

Also realise I haven't included Forrest as an option there which seems harsh but realistically we shouldn't not be signing talent for the future seasons because of him, now.

I do think we need three forwards in but I don’t think we get 3 wingers.

If we are in for Ambrosino and Maeda stays I just can’t see us sign Balikwisha and two more wingers. Watching back Balikwisha footage from 2 seasons ago he played a decent amount on the right wing as well as the left and as mentioned above he did play a lot centrally at the end of last season.

I'd just worry about him and Jansson for example covering right given that they will want to cut in and can't do that due to being right footed.

I think we should discount Jota, by the time he returns he’ll have effectively missed around 2 1/2 years of football. So not only will he be getting over a very serious injury he’ll be trying to get to a level of fitness he’s not seen consistently since he left us. By the way, I am a massive fan of Jotas ability but, I am very concerned what player we get back around February/March next year.
